For me it’s my soup maker and a sellotape dispenser! Couldn’t do without either of them!

My garlic press and my elderly Kenwood mini chopper.

I thought about this for a while and concluded that despite many life enhancing gadgets, including robot vacuum cleaner and a Gaggia coffee maker, it has to be my I Pad :
I listen to music
watch catch up tv
Zoom
What’s app with family and friends
Email
Admin and bills
... I use it every day and would be lost without it.

Sellotape dispenser, obviously popular.
Cordless vacuum cleaner, apple peeler and corer, food processor.
If I can have only one, my washing machine.

I am a bit of a gadget girl myself and have quite a few that are mentioned here, some I wouldn't be without and some which live at the back of the cupboard and never see light of day one of which is my Salter soup maker. Now I'm thinking as so many people on here love their soup makers I must be doing/not doing something wrong! I find that I have to make the soup in a saucepan first then put it in the soup maker to blend. If I put all the vegetables in the soup maker from raw they stay really hard even if I chop them up into tiny pieces. I've not dared to add raw meat. Is there anyone who could give me a few tips please! Thank you

My Air fryer, I use it everyday and hardly use my main oven except for joints

My very cheap slow cooker and a soup maker. I use my slow cooker every week from September to May - love a casserole - what can I say!!. I do enough for 4 then freeze what's left. And now that autumn days have arrived, I use my soup maker twice a week. I get a weekly veggie box and use the soup maker to make sure my OH gets his 5 a day by making veggie soup. He had a stroke and was left with a "difficult swallow" - chokes every day, so "soft" food is safe - I can't do the Heimlich manouevre properly anymore due to arthritis and peripheral neuralgia, so soup is the perfect way to boost nutrition :-)

I love my soup maker and I even put raw meat in it, I must admit I use packets of ready chopped veg as they are so cheap and easy to use.
Do you think your veg maybe a little to big
Good luck

Digital radio so that I can hear the BBC World Service

That is interesting - salad in a tea towel and spinning about- I would rather try that then buy any more gadgets- like a salad spinner!!

I had a Tala box grater from the 1960s - it finally broke a couple of years ago. I bought a replacement - a different make, and nothing like such good quality - I guess it will see me out though! I also found a set of Tala measuring cups, still in the original box, and priced at 12/6, in a local charity shop about 5 years ago. Great quality and in constant use.

My near-boiling water tap is the best thing ever. It's not the mega expensive thing that delivers cold filtered, room temperature water and everything in between. It's simply a tap that delivers near-boiling water whenever I want it and has done away with the kettle.

My next best thing is my sewing machine. I made reusable gift bags for Christmas last year and saved myself endless, back-breaking wrapping.

My GS loves my salad spinner - it keeps him quiet for hours!
My fave gadgets are potato masher (for closing the windows and hooking top cupboard stuff forward); neck fan (helps with my marvellous menopause); floor steamer (no more hands and knees) and electric recliner (for what we call a "chairgasm")!!

Naninka Sat 16-Oct-21 14:09:21

Just to clarify: chair does not vibrate - it simply makes the occupant go "ahhhh" after a long, hard day as their feet raise and rest!!

Every year I purchased a "miracle" gadget at the Ideal Home Exhibition after seeing a demonstration. Once home none ever lived up to expectations and were rarely if ever used and I vowed never to buy anything again. When I saw the Karcher window vac being demonstrated I was very sceptical and said so to the demonstrator -fortunately for me I was invited to try it for myself and I was instantly won over - it was so easy to use and the glass shone with no streaks whatsoever - I love love love it and use it constantly to clean windows, shower screens, mirrors and a glass topped dining table, Knowing just how good Karcher products are I did not hesitate in buying their pressure washer which I thoroughly enjoy using every few months

Flat toaster. It is great for toasting things that will not fit into a regular toaster, such as buns, teacakes, crumpets, and muffins.. It is very old now so I do not know what I will do when it wears out. I suppose I will have to go back to using the grill which is not as good. It always seems to burns things.

I find the caps on bottles, and the wider jar lids increasingly difficult to open. I found a couple of gizmos (sold together as a set) online that do the job for me, easily and unfailingly. They also open those soup cans with a little ring that you are supposed to pull to open, except that you have to pull very hard. With the little hook on the gizmo, no problem.

It's sold by Amazon, and the company is MEYUEWAL. Very inexpensive and worth every penny!

My karcher window cleaner best thing ever so easy

I am not sure what you would call the gadget but it pops the seal on jars of jam or pickle saves your wrists I think I only paid a few pound but definitely well worth it. It just hooks under the lid and you push up slightly and the seal pops.

My Brother Labeller which is now labelling all those power adapters which never seem to have the identifying wording on them to match them up to their electrical counterparts. When I have finished matching and labelling them, I will be able to get rid of the big box that grows ever bigger with stray adapters!

Smileless2012 Sat 16-Oct-21 15:27:09

Me too Suziewakie and I was just going to say so when I saw your post.

No doubt about my current favourite.
Hello steam mop…. Probably 5 minutes to clean my large kitchen floor!
Goodbye clumsy old mop and bucket.
