Kettles - how old is yours

I noticed a crack in my glass kettle today. It is 4 years old. The previous one was replaced under warranty as the switch broke.
Am I heavy handed? I am sure the glass ones are not the best but OH likes them and he is the decorator/furniture chooser/designer.

I am sure some will last a few generations but just not in this house

My kettles never last very long either. I think they’re designed to fail, and they can’t be repaired. Russell Hobs used to good, but I refuse to buy one now because they fail after a year.
