Love my induction hob, had for ,can’t believe, 5 years, still as good as new and heats very quickly, easy to adjust and cook on lower heat too. Still they don’t suit everyone. As for eye level ovens , now using a brilliant combi which bakes and cooks all manner of things.

We have been away for Xmas in a holiday let, it had an Esse range with an induction hob, at around £12,000 it’s a very expensive lump of metal that really didn’t perform that well.

At home I have a Lacanche range with 3 electric ovens and a gas hob.
It is outstanding, I cook an awful lot and bake all my own bread, it’s a real workhorse, I really wouldn’t be without it.

I have the Aga Masterchef dual fuel, but getting the turkey out of the oven on Christmas Day was a bit heavy. My friend has had built a built in oven for this reason, also an induction hob which is so much easier to clean. It certainly makes you think!

I can't imagine being without my Rangemaster

I have used (with lots of muttering!) induction hobs in holiday homes and I really don't get on with them

kittylester there are some lovely gas hobs or even duel fuel hobs on the market. I cannot get on with induction hobs (have used several friends ones)

You see, granarchist, the induction hob is one of the scariest bits!! grin

just building a new home - I have abandoned the Aga (sob) as getting casseroles etc out of the bottom oven was becoming a nightmare. I have installed 2 side by side built in ovens - at eye level - so much safer with same capacity. The jury is out on the induction hob which is going to get some getting used to, but very easier to clean.

Mine is a dual fuel Rangemaster, too, and I do love it but I'm thinking ahead and wondering whether I would be better to adapt now as we have to do the other things.

Oh sorry kittylester we have a duel fuel range, and I wouldn’t be without it (RangeMaster). I can imagine that if mobility becomes a problem I may have to rethink, but until then it’s staying put.

We have a Quooker boiling water tap (have had one for 24+ years) cannot imagine having a kettle now.

It is almost 20 years since we had our kitchen installed and we now need a new sink and work tops. We also fancy a boiling water tap.

However, Christmas proved that my range cooker is not up to the job. The big gas oven took ages to roast all the potatoes.

Apart from at Christmas, I mostly use the tall fan oven and can cook a whole roast dinner for DH and I in it.

So, do we replace the range with a new range or buy a built-in double oven which will, obviously, be a much bigger job but might allow us to change the kitchen around a bit to reflect the way we live now.

And, if we buy a built-in oven, what would you recommend?
