It is expensive but it goes on and wears so well and we’ve found we can often get away with one coat rather than two of a cheaper one.

I too had new high gloss high tech white kitchen with grey/bronze metro tiles and it's like new still after 6 years although my cream and wood country style old one was also like new after 18 years!! I love the smart contrast of grey with any colour at all! Accessories can change the mood of a room easily and cheaply specially if the dreaded cushions rugs and curtains are absent!! Granny things?

I predict the next colour will be the opposite on the spectrum. Nothing that will match grey.......else we would never buy anything new.....so how about chocolate brown.....magnolia creams......rust reds and lots of wood. I'm looking forward to buying some chocolate brown towels for my bathroom. Can't buy them anywhere right now.

I couldnt give a toss what is fashionable or not. I am not a sheep and choose to decorate my home in any way I fancy , that I can afford. Years ago I had a lovely wallpaper which was cream background with spring green and yellow little wavy lines. When you woke up it always looked as though the sun was dappling through the window and your spirits rose and you got up in a good mood. Have never found that paper again, but each house aspect alters what I prefer to see and have a lot of pictures so would prefer a simple paint or paper which gives a good background to my picures.

Grey (in all it’s variations) is my favourite colour. It’s modern and clean.

Cushions, rugs and curtains have been making a rapid comeback this winter due to rising fuel costs. Homeware shops are full of them.

They are also a quick and affordable way of changing decor and style.

By next winter it could be blinds and stripped floorboards that are a thing of the past.

I have been assured by someone in the kitchen unit supply business that grey is out. It's pale green that is going to be taking over, in fact any green in decor will be the must have colour. Grey has been the fashion for a few years now so suppose something else is due to come along to get folk to spend money just to b
e fashionable. Grey laminate flooring is awful.

That's lucky.
My living room is green and so are my Granny cushions.

I love silver grey, blush pink, navy blue,ochre, so many colours go nicely with greys

I like grey, especially silver grey. Like to wear it too. It's quite a warm colour compared with magnolia or white I think & it does go with everything, and lovely with unvarnished wood.

Cuprinol’s Urban Slate is a really good background colour for foliage. I’d go so far as to say it’s the best. I used it in my last garden and as soon as the weather warms up I’ll be out in my new garden covering up the sludge brown that’s on all the woodwork. There’s a lot of it so I could be some time. ?

I've never gone along with fashion. We never knocked through our living/dining room. Didn't rip out dado rails or picture rails. Our house is a rambling 100 year old thing and the modern stuff that comes into fashion and out of it is not for us.

Don't like grey. Don't like chrome. Don't like anything particularly. Don't like modern kitchens. I'm happy with our hotchpotch decor/furnishings.

There is a difference between grey, with other colours, yes I love and wear grey it suits me the way black totally doesn't.

But the modern fashion, is for grey, more grey, yet more grey and nothing else and usually a very slightly yellow grey like a long dull Novemebr day with the clouds piled miles high and the knowledge that it is soon going to start to rain.

My school uniform was grey so I have avoided the colour ever since!

I am in a new-build. The kitchen and utility room have grey units. This would have been the last thing I would have chosen. I think it is horrible. But I count myself lucky to have an efficient kitchen and let it wash by me.

My DH wanted a grey kitchen (not happening) fortunately as we have a granite worktop it's only the doors we are after, no way are we replacing to granite! - manufacturers don't do our sizes, not going for made to measure, so it's a win for me. ?
