removing mould from ceilings

I had a leaking roof last year which caused a mouldy patch on my bathroom ceiling by the time it was repaired.

A friend recommended neat bleach on a cloth. I was sceptical but gave it a go. I was pleasantly surprised to see the disgusting patch vanish as I wiped the bleachy cloth across it.

I probably should have worn safety goggles but I didn’t. I was just careful not to have my face directly under the area I was working on. A glug of thick bleach soaked into a chunky cloth and the job was done in minutes.

We had the same problem as Gnw, a leaky roof. We used strong bleach on the ceiling, had the roof repaired and then repainted the ceiling with an anti-mould ceiling paint. All OK so far! ??

I would recommend HG mould remover. It is a bit thin though

I have sprayed it onto my bathroom ceiling which had some black mould over the shower. It worked.

If you can get the spray gun at a good angle to spray it goes on fine. Mine didn't drip. It is better to spray thinly twice than try to spray loads on all at once.

As a last resort, spray the liquid onto a sponge and dab it on.

I find HG the best for removing black mould, especially from on silicone sealing and tiles. I works like magic and you don't have to scrub.

HG works every time leave it on a little while though. It works on garden furniture and tiles a really good product.
