Does anyone have on of these in their homes?

How good are they and how noisy?

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Yes, it’s fantastic, not over noisy at all, bought it two years ago.

I haven't got one to recommend, but I can tell you one that I would advise you to steer clear of.

I bought the JML one last year. It was a cube shape and you just had to add water to the unit.

It was so loud though. I had got it to use when I was working and most of my job was on the phone. I couldn't work with it on, which defeated the object, so I had to return it.

To the best of my recollection, it wasn't even very effective.

We have one. It has 3 settings. The highest one can be a little noisy. Too noisy to leave on overnight.

I was looking at the JML one yesterday hurdygurdy and thought better of it. Wanted a smaller one for the kitchen.

wet t towel in front of a fan= air cooler

Thanks or replies. Has convinced me, going to order one later today.
Karmalady No, I do not want a 'make do and mend' type of cooler. Your idea of wet towel, etc is akin to saying do not bother to purchase of good fan, just somehow wave a towel up and down!!

I do have an excellent Netta tower fan, purchased before I moved here. it does an excellent job of keeping the air moving, but think with warnings that this excessive heat is likely to be arriving most summers now, want something a bit more.

I don’t have an Air Cooler, but I do have air circulators made by ProBreeze (whose Cooler JaxJacky recommends) and I can vouch that they make top notch machines.
I think that I might buy one myself.

I bought a Dyson for DS to get him through revising for finals a few years ago. It works really well and is still going strong.
Expensive to start with but nearly 10 years of good work.

It cools the whole of their large living room during the day and they had it on overnight in the bedroom too. They don't use it at night this year as it disturbs the new baby.

I bought just the cooler but it's not that much of a stretch to buy one that can also be a heater when the weather turns.
