Glass panel behind the hob

My glass splash backs are stuck to the wall with some sort of adhesive, like tiles would be , so no need for screws.

Thank you PollyDolly The steam condensation came from above. We removed the glass, cleaned and painted then replaced the glass and did put sealant along the top as you suggested.

spice101 can I ask is the splash back an actual window or are you describing an actual splashback?

I have black, sparkly glass splash back - looks good and is easily cleaned.

I like mine - a green marbled look that goes with the kitchen decor. It has another (unintended) use as a mirror so I can see who's coming up the path when I'm sitting at the kitchen table.

You can get coloured glass to match or ones with pictures or even your own photo. Not just for splash backs but all round the kitchen if you want. They come in acrylic as well as glass. There’s a company ar Priston Mill near Bath who do it.

My glass splashback is mounted with four domed screws. Very practical until ten years on cooking steam found it's way behind it and the descending droplets left slightly dirty rivulets.
The kitchen is due to be tarted up this year so I am thinking of painting the rear of the glass to prevent this being seen.
The glass has been removed and the wall repainted twice now but the problem does return.

Esspee, could you apply a little transparent bathroom sealant over the screws to seal the gap? It wouldn't stop the screw being undone later on but might stop the dirty marks?

I have a glass splashback - it is pale blue and is opaque. Easy to keep clean and it always looks great.

My splashback is a non opening window. It's about 50cm high by the length of the bench. It lets light in and gives a view of the garden.

Glass splash backs are coloured in someway so even the ones that look clear aren’t see through , otherwise you’d just see the glue that’s used to attach them to the wall. I’ve got a glass splash back that’s a pretty pale aqua colour.

I have this.. Its Specialist glass made to order, its just stuck on nothing behind it, though you could get clear and put wall paper or paint?

Mine is a lovely twinkling Turquoise, with a pale Grey kitchen units.

We had our kitchen refitted three years ago, and after the walls were painted in the normal way, they fixed a large piece of coloured glass behind the hob, like a smoked colour on the pale green wall. It's easy to keep clean and looks really good.
