Rimless toilet vs traditional? Help please!

When I had my en-suite all done three years ago, one of the new things was the rimless, comfort height loo. It is great - I am now only 5 ft. 2 inches, so nothing to do with being for taller people. Comfort heights mean it is easier to sit on it.
When I go into my bathroom, which I had done six years ago, but kept the normal height loo - I actually feel that I am falling, when I sit on that.
Rimless makes it so much easier to clean - I have an ostomy and this occasionally gets far too liquid - so easy to keep this loo really clean all of the time.

Definitely go rimless. More hygienic & easier to clean 👍🏻

I had a new bathroom fitted 3 years ago and a rimless toilet was fitted as standard because they use less water. It's much easier to clean and definitely uses less water per flush.

Had a new downstairs cloakroom in a March and had a rimless toilet. I’d never seen them before but I think they look better and are certainly easier to clean.

We've put a new bathroom in our flat and have a rimless toilet. Never heard of them before but I can see why this one is going to be easier to clean.

I’m about 5’ 4 inches or so, not particularly tall, and like the comfort height.

It’s to avoid having the high toilet seat add ons that so many people need as they age.

notspaghetti Yuk! We're happy with our big standard bog, I'm just curious really. I can only find images of closed toilets with the lids down, on Google.
I assume they don't have that lip around the top with the little holes in for water to spurt through.
I also assume comfort height is for taller people.

What is comfort height? When my husband had his hip replaced the hospital loaned us a high seat and rails for the toilet - is that 'comfort' height?
I found it most awkward as I am very short and my feet wouldn't reach the floor. I'd say it was a quick way to chronic constipation for people like me. When I asked DH if it helped he said it was OK but didn't look too good.
Humans were originally designed to squat in order to poo, though I can't say I'd want to do that either!

Should add, we live in a very hard water area, and when we re-vamped the bathroom, had a water softener installed, on the advice of our plumber.

Not cheap, but hopefully worth it in terms of the removal of lime scale in the (rimless) loo, and much better for the shower glass and tiles.

Ours are rimless, wouldn't consider going back to the old type as they are much easier to clean and actually look nice.
The seats can usually be removed for cleaning and clip back in no trouble at all.

Am following this with interest as we recently had the plumber in to fit new flushes as ours were clogged up with limescale. He also said that if we wanted to replace the loos too you could now get rimless ones. If they use less water, it's practically a no-brainer. Our bathroom and loo were completely renovated about 20 years ago and still look good and are easy to clean but we have noticed a few signs of aging (such as the flushing mechanisms)

Would someone be kind enough to post a photo of their rimless loo, please as I haven't seen one, or even heard of them, 'till reading this thread.

I should add, they are much easier to keep clean.

We have one, it’s comfort height too. Would always choose rimless from now on.

I don't have one but as far as I'm aware they use less water under higher pressure to achieve the same flush. I would say its an aesthetic choice really.

Is it the aesthetics that is drawing you towards them or water saving perhaps?

We have a rimless loo and yes so much easier to keep clean. Looks nicer too when DH inadvertently leaves the loo seat up! ?

Like you, had never heard of rimless toilets!

We decided to have one, plus a ‘comfort’ height seat.

Personally, I would recommend both.
