I've given up on peg bags and now use a peg box, I currently have a really good strong Addis one.

It's always damp where I live. I keep pegs (steel ones called pincinox) in a basket so even if the pegs, and/or the basket get wet, all is exposed to moving air between times.

Using a carabina attached to the basket handle, I hang it on the line when I hanging washing.

I keep my clothes pegs in an old ice-cream container as I had trouble with cloth bags.

If it is oilskin the spots should come off with a damp rag, maybe with a little washing up liquid. But I agree with the others, ditch it.

You have given me another idea for things to make out of the piles of old towels and sheets I am trying to recycle.

Is dabbing with buttermilk, then rinsing, meant to get rid of mould? Plus drying in very hot sunshine afterwards. It might be worth a try. Is it a particularly pretty bag which you don't want to part with?

Baking soda and lemon juice might help, if you have them handy.

I would try neat bleach, with a sink full of water to quickly put the bag into, as soon as you've bleached the mould.

You could try soaking it in water to which some bleach has been added. Put it out to dry on a sunny day as the sun can bleach as well.

I agree , life us too short fiyr such a task. Do buy a new one and ensure it is simple fabric, not oil cloth.

Is it worth the bother?
For a peg bag?
Treat yourself to a new one!

I have not long bought an oilcloth peg bag. Because I put it away damp, I now have mould spots on it which don’t seem to budge. Anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of these spots?
