Did a 14 minute wash earlier on this evening followed by a 10 minute spin, when I went out to empty the machine there was water all over the floor and behind the machine there was snow only a few pieces about the size of a 5P but where an earth has that come from? I checked the pipes and none of them seem to be split so it really is a mystery. I have put towels down and will have to try and deal with it in the morning but I am really puzzled I have googled it but got no satisfactory reply. Any help from my Gransnet army of wisdom gratefully received . I did go outside to see if I could tell whether the outside pipe had frozen, I could not tell but even then how would a bit of snow go in to the utility room?.,😕

When I had a similar problem we found out by what I only can call the process of exhaustion that the outside drain was clogged up with a disgusting residue better imagined than described.

When we had a) located said outside drain and b) cleaned it, a task DH, bless him, volunteered for, the problem was solved,

This happened one summer, so I was even more surprised than you by the presence of "snow" all over the tiled floor of the back kitchen.

"Snow" turned out to be mashed up used toilet paper from the upstairs toilet! I no longer put paper down it, as the main use of the upstairs toilet is for weeing at night, so used paper goes into a plastic bag and from there to the bin.

Don't know if this really helps, as you have checked the outside drain.
