Creative Ideas for using up expensive wallpaper, please

Thank you - though the idea of course came from here - I have few original ideas in my head!

I MawtheMerrier I shop bought a few frames all the same as one in photo as I had a plan - which never reached fruition.

I do though keep a stock of old frames and though I have too many its surprising how they 'come in'

Now I am wondering if it’s possible to put it on a large tile and coat it in something like a resin that wouldn’t stick to whatever was but on it.

Oooh sounds lovely! Yes would be possible! You could brush on a light coating of it or you could create a temporary frame or mould and pour the resin into it, then remove the frame or mould when the resin was dry.

How did you frame it @ Noola ? Did you use a clip frame or did you buy a frame ?
What do you use your notebook for? I have so many (I find them hard to resist) but they never actually get used !

Noola look at something called Modge Podge. It comes in lots of different types, including one for things outside.
It’s specially for decoupage

This has reminded me that I’ve got some curtains in the loft that DD had in a house she lived in years ago. I need to do something with them. I think they’re Strawberry Thief (red).

I've bought and made lampshade kits, they are easy if you get your husband or someone else to help ( four hands are better than two!)

I’m so not clever at all, but used rainbow bricks wallpaper from b&q at the top of my stairs and I love it. If only I was smart enough to post a photo 😮

What clever people some of you are and what lovely homes you live in. I particularly like the decoupage dog and the dressing table but they are all lovely. I;m looking around my own hoe now wondering what I could decoupage..........maybe the table tennis table.........

I haven't done decoupage before but will see if I can, I'll look out for website help. A lampshade is a thought - but again never done it so hesitant. Thank you for that and other thoughts like that makemineajammiedodger

Very helpful good ideas. The paper leftover I have is 'Strawberry Thief' red. I love it.

The room I have the feature wall has also curtains of it, so a framed paper would be a bit much - but I will try framing an A4 size for a bedroom. I quite like taking some colours / design through my little house.

If you want to be creative with samples, you can go onto the John Lewis website and order posh paper samples for free. They come direct ftom the manufacturer. The size is sort of A4.

decoupage on items of furniture
cover a cheap waste-paper bin with it
make a lampshade
William Morris paper on a mirror/picture frame is lovely
look up how to make a gift box or bag online and use the lovely paper for that
use it as a cover for a notebook, or even make your own notebooks with it. Fill with double sheets of quality plain paper and stitch down the middle with embroidery thread and a thick needle
don't forget to keep a bit in case you need to patch later!
