Creative Ideas for using up expensive wallpaper, please

Hello.

I have had a 'feature' wall papered using some William Morris print paper. It looks lovely and I am very please.
Its not a big wall but it comes out special.

Now I splashed out on the (Sanderson) paper - it was expensive. Now I have some left - maybe about 10 feet maybe less.

But what can I do with it. I certainly don't want to discard it.
What simple craft could I do?
I'd love to hear suggestions.
Thank you.

There are so many things you can do with left over wallpaper but a simple one I have done is decoupaging some horrible placemats I had,[ the hard ones with the cork back]. I ended up doing some coasters as well. Just some PVA glue and a small roller is all the equipment needed. Pinterest is the place to go for thousands of ideas for leftover wallpaper.

or you could creatively sell 3metres of William Morris wallpaper on Facebook Marketplace

We’ve not had wallpaper for many a year but when we had used a particularly nice one we framed some pieces of it and put the resulting pictures on a plain wall in the same room. Lots of compliments. I’m sure Pinterest would show you many more creative ways of making good use of your lovely wallpaper.

Hello. Which design is it Noola? I currently have Golden Lily and Standen in the living room. Willow Bough up the stairs and Daisy in the ‘dining room’ (it’s not really big enough to be a dining room).
I’ve also had Fruit and Compton in the living room.

I did this in my first flat, furnished from Habitat. Interesting sheets of wrapping paper then in cheap clip frames 🖼 .
Very effective.

We have William Morris in the hall and have saved the left over paper for the inevitable patching. We have lots of dgc and are not daft. grin

Oh kitty I bet your house is absolutely gorgeous.
That’s the paper I’ve got in my living room

Love the wallpapers fanny.

I love William Morris but dh, having no taste, isn't keen. The rest of the house is quite plain.

DD1 has one kitchen wall papered in a giant bee paper. There was enough left to do a wall in the downstairs loo.

If there is only a very little, lining drawers is a simple idea.
Especially chest of drawers in bedroom, for instance.

Cover exercise books! (Anyone remember doing that?)grin
My mum used to say the teachers were just nosey to see what type of house you came from!

On a more helpful note, I've covered a dressing table and chest of drawers with wallpaper to match one of our bedroom walls (decoupage). The drawers were a bit fiddly though.

kittylester Sat 14-Jan-23 11:51:57

Ooooh, that's pretty, namsnanny!

That is lovely!
I decoupaged a tissue box with cuttings from some wallpaper.
I’ll take a photo later

I’ve just remembered that I had a nest of 3 small mahogany tables with leather tops, covered by glass - very 80’s - but I put wallpaper over the leather, holding it in place with the glass and they did look good, if I say so myself.

So which WM pattern is it @ Noola ?

Joseanne Sat 14-Jan-23 12:22:26

Lovely ideas.

Some people are just boring unimaginative and turn it into pictures!

Joseanne Sat 14-Jan-23 12:23:53

Or cover the dog!

Joseanne

Or cover the dog!

It’s getting her to stand still long enough…..maybe I should do it now?

FannyCornforth Sat 14-Jan-23 12:28:36

My tissue box

Joseanne I recognise those flowers! They are M&S aren’t they?
My dad has sent them to me three
times in the past.
