We love home made bread & recently bought a collapsible bread bin from Lakeland but twice this week bread has started to go mouldy so we need a replacement. Looked at Tupperware on Amazon last night but the reviews put me off.

I always buy fresh baquettes etc cut them up and freeze the majority of them. But if I've used a breadbin I use a terracotta pot with lid..

I find bread bins are mould incubators! Especially with home made bread
As already suggested , slice and freeze

I have a metal bread bin. It is a large, lidded bottle green container with handles with BREAD written on it. I must have had it 20 years. It has a special bottom, so you can empty it and use it as a huge pan on the stove. I always cook my turkey carcase in it for soup and also any large quantities of anything. It is really useful and made by Judges.

We have a bodum one...with a bamboo lid ....and a little dial one one side which opens/closes to ventilate the bin as needed
....you can often pick them up in homesense.... mines cream... but you get them in different colours

I make all my own bread, I store it in linen bread bags in a Brabantia bin with a wooden lid.
Never goes mouldy.

I also have a terracotta pot with a lid - it is perfect does a great job at keeping the bread fresh!

I have a Port Meirion pottery one which was quite expensive even as a seconds, but I hardly use it now as bread kept going mouldy. I stopped putting it in there in plastic bags as they would fill with water, but it still went mouldy quite quickly. Now I leave it in cellophane in an open pottery casserole dish.

I have limited space in my tiny kitchen, so the microwave doubles up as a bread bin with door ajar. My bread never goes mouldy.

After trying all sorts of bread bins I gave up. The bread went mouldy in all of them. Now we buy small loaves and bread buns as we need them. If I make a loaf myself, I wrap it in greaseproof paper and put it in a zip lock bag. Home made bread is eaten very quickly.

I bake my own bread and have recently bought a andrew James metal one from Amazon. I line the bottom with a tea towel and wrap my bread in another before putting in the tin. So far a loaf has still been perfectly fresh on day 3, it never lasts longer on this house !

Thanks so much for your comments, everyone. Nanagem I really like the look of the one you have. 😊
Sago where do you get your linen bags from, please?
