Electric barbecues

We’ve got a George Foreman outdoor electric barbecue. Had some years now, and does the job well.

Oh Ann I know you meant tongs, otherwise A&E would’ve been very busy yesterday!

I have now bought and used my electric bbq.
Andrew James purchased from Amazon.
We used it last evening and cooked kebabs and fillet steak.
Very pleased with it.
It is basically a griddle like you would use on the stove top.
Very clean, no smoke or smell and sitting outside with a glass of wine in one hand and tongues for turning in the other chatting to my GD and two guests was very good and chilling.

annsixty Has anyone used/owned/tried an electric barbecue

We have one. We like smokey grilled veg.

We soak special wood, put above the heat, below the grates.

We have a small charcoal barbecue for us (Lidl 29€) and a bigger gas plancha for everything else.

Not sure if it would suit your needs but what a Teppenyaki grill, my Niece bought one and she said they are great, you can pick one up on Amazon for about £30.+ Not saying you would get the full BBQ experience or taste but great for cooking thin cuts of meat , fish & prawns.

We used to use a disposable barbercue in the garden brbercue, as it was just the right size for a barbercue with up to 4 people and was so easy conveneint to use.

Unfortunately because so many people used them and left them on beaches and in woodland that they are now no longer sold because of the dangers this can cause. leaving all of us who only ever used them safely and disposed of them safely afterwards having to rethink.

My mind was already moving towards electric barbecues, as is DD, who did much as we did, but it will be a basic barbercue, nothing fancy and easy to put in the garden shed in winter.

Agreed- although here in the countryside we use wood, not charcoal in th4 large half-drum BBQ. Can't see the point of an electric one?

I would love the Ninja Woodfire, but I can't justify the price. I love my Ninja Foodi and it's been worth every penny though. Maybe if I win the lottery, I'd treat myself.

We have a charcoal one used for friends/family, it’s just the two of us I use an ECO disposable one.

It was the Ninja I was looking at as I love my Ninja Air Fryer but it is very expensive,I dont think I would ever use the smoker.

My Son in law is looking at the Ninja one at the moment. It’s an eye watering price but then that’s Ninja, and I suppose you get what you pay for.

Lookingon ebay the cost of an electric barbecue starts just over £25 and goes up as high as you like.
