I've just come across the Laura Ashley slow cooker online and fell in love with it. It's really pretty. I'm wondering how good it is though 🤔. There is only one review on Amazon (which is positive). I'd like a few more opinions, if possible. So if anyone has one...

Many thanks.

Never buy anything useful because it’s pretty. 😢

I don’t own one but I’ve just googled it. It’s rather lovely isn’t it. I don’t have enough cupboard room to keep things like slow cookers out of sight. It would be nice to have my kitchen essentials aesthetically pleasing as well. Mind you I use my mini slow cooker more than the larger one. I’ve always wanted a nice bottle to decant washing up liquid into.

No, you're probably right, Primrose. I'm just hoping to receive tons of replies saying how marvellous it is 😁🙏

Primrose, why ever not? If all of your useful items are pleasing to look at, they will bring joy every time you use them.

I say go for it. I wouldn't think one slow-cooker could be much different from another. It is more expensive than other comparable ones though, but you are paying for aesthetics.

So…it’s not only of use but also an ornament!
What’s not to like.

It's like using a crystal glass, its the visual aspect which makes it more pleasing therefore the contents will probably taste better.

The problem is that a number of companies 'badge' items like this, so you don't know the quality of it. I tend to go for appliances that I know who made them and can look at reviews - not foolproof bit a bit more transparent.

I thought Laura Ashley ceased to exist years ago? I would be very wary of a product purporting to be made by them. Possibly made in China where they have no idea about copyright?

It’s sold in many retailers, Boots, Robert Dyas and more, but with no reviews, maybe newly available? It’s also quite expensive.

It says online that Laura Ashley has been resurrected 🤔

The original Laura Ashley doesn't exist anymore - the name and archives were bought out by a restructuring company in the USA when all the stores were closed. They sell Laura Ashley products made in Asia now in partnership with people like Next. I don't think their stuff has been made in the UK since the 90s. So basically it's probably a slow cooker made in Asia like most others with a pretty Laura Ashley design and name.

Because they just stick a LA logo on any cheap old tat. You want a kitchen gadget or appliance to do the job required and be built to last.

I love beautiful bed linens, throws, towels, curtains etc but a “pretty” slow cooker is not on my wish list.

Is it much more expensive than plain ones?

Methinks a beautiful slow cooker trumps a beautiful towel.

I don't think I'm allowed to show a picture of it from Amazon, am I? Something to do with copyright?
