Matt finish kitchen unit doors

Has anyone got experience of matt finish kitchen unit doors? We’re thinking of replacing our current kitchen unit doors and have sort of decided on a dark matt blue for a change to hi gloss. A wood finish would not suit the rest of the room - open plan and minimalist. However, I’ve heard they show every mark and dab of fingers so it may be back to the drawing board.

My mistake was choosing pure shiny white worktops. They look beautiful with the blue cupboards, but I am experiencing devilish stains, especially with wine and tea spills. I should have done a test with a sample piece. Occasionally they mark if metal scratches them, like a metal belt buckle rubbing the edge, but that is easily removed.

Yes, we’re planning to have some glass wall cupboards.
Hopefully we'll be pleased. The kitchen layout works so not looking to alter that, only the doors.

Thank you.

I agree with kittylester that deep drawers are so much better than cupboards where you have to bend and rummage to the back.

One of the best bits of our new kitchen is the 'pantry'. It's years since I had a real one but this cupboard if fabulous.

Lexisgranny, I've just spotted that you love your larder too!

Ours is in the utility room and replaced a large 1950's ish stock cupboard from when our house was a village school. The children were outraged when we eventually got rid of this bit of history. I'm outraged that we left it so long. grin

Kittylester. Yes we have a pantry style cupboard that pulls out - its great. The units are remaining because they ‘work’ for us. Its only the doors that are being replaced.
Ive some reservations about whiteish worktops but looking at this to lighten to whole effect.🫰

Pixieboots:

With a Kitchen that size and an abundance of light the world of colour is your oyster. Hit the Rich Colours but Matt or Satin finish is Best.

Our kitchen is approx 14'x14' and can cope with dark blue
floor cupboards along with cream/glass top cupboards.

We have light paint on the walls, a few navy tiles and a light oak amtico floor.
