Decent pillows!

Had a quick skim through and can’t find any posts recently regarding pillows although I feel sure it must have been asked before.
I need to invest in some decent pillows as I am fed up with them sagging in the middle, the fillings ending up in one place despite shaking and generally being uncomfortable. Myself and DP have both had bad necks recently and I’m sure it’s due to the horrid pillows.
I have always bought mid price range thinking they would suffice.
Whilst I don’t want to pay ridiculous prices, I am happy to pay a bit more than I previously have.

Please help! What are your best buys?
Thanks

The only pillows that work for me are GX support pillows, they are mid price and have a central strap system that stops the filling bunching up. I find the one that suits me is the medium one. I have bought , goose down, eiderdown, feather, feather and down and every type of pillow you can find, I've spent £100s on pillows but nothing works like the GX.

Try Derila pillows. Mine is really good for my neck & shoulders. Also do pillowcases that are ok too!

Sorry to tag on but does anyone have experience of memory foam pillows? Would they help?

We’re on our 2nd Tempur mattress. Last time, about 8 years ago, we also bought their pillows & they’re perfect for us.

I have Dunelm ones and a really recommend . I usually wash them in the washing machine then fluff them up and dry flat in the sun with frequent turning

Try either Jysk Nordic or Ikea and buy pure cotton pillows with feather stuffings, unless you are allergic to feathers. You may well find that two pillows, the upper as described above and the lower of memory foam are best for your neck and back.

Wash, spin and tumble dry the down filled pillow once a year.

Tempura pillows came free with our (extortionate but worth every penny) mattress. They're ever so heavy so I thought I'd hate them, but they're brilliant, so comfortable and cooler than our down ones that we liked previously.

I tried a pillow from MyPillow and have never regretted it. They were on telly and it was said that they are very 'marmite' but I absolutely love mine. www.mypillow.com/

My Groove Pillow has totally mended my sore neck! Husband and daughter now have one and love them too. www.groovepillows.co.uk/

I used to use very well stuffed down pillows but we both now use firm support microfibre pillows from King of Cotton. I actually prefer these to down myself now.

I use memory foam shaped pillows from Dunelm. Prices range from £20odd upwards. There are different ones depending on whether you are a side/front/back sleeper but I find the back sleeper one great even though I sleep on my side. Could not use anything else.

J. L feathered special buys. I can shape them as I need. I put two Egyptian cotton pillow slips on each one for protection. On the pillow tags I write the year I start to use them so I change them every few years.
I shake them well every morning and air them separately at the foot of the bed for the morning. Google says they will go yellow because of moisture.
Oh, my goodness I don’t make my bed in the morning but leave it to air till gone midday.

I agree with @missdeke.
I to have spent hundreds trying to find the perfect pillow and only found it when I was introduced to the GX support pillow.
These are available medium soft and medium firm, my preference is for the latter, but everyone is different, so some might find the former to be better suited to their needs.

Hello. Decades, ago I went to a osteopath to cure me of a very painful neck. And he did, and sold me a Tempur pillow. 40 years later I've got through 3 of them and my painful neck has not recurred. They are brilliant things, contoured to support the neck, do not smell, and come with a good sturdy washable cover. I put an ordinary pillowcase on, change it every few days or so, and strongly recommend. Not cheap though. Currently about £100.

Pure silk pillows from Cuddledown. They are just the right thickness and firmness for me. They stay cool in Summer but feel cosy in Winter. Around £60, but they often have special offers. They do sell out, but quickly come back in stock. I would never go back to any kind of synthetic pillow!

No need to have discolored or grubby down/feather pillows. Wash them in the machine and put them to dry in sun/wind. Finish them in a tumble dryer and they puff up like they’re brand new. Ours are about 15+ years old.

Dunlopillo, might be a different brand now.

My daughter had a memory foam one years ago but doesn't like them now.
Aren't the Panda bamboo ones a type of memory foam?

Dunlopillow latex. On the expensive side, at least for me. Have tried others but feel they just flatten in the middle or are too soft or firm. Used the Dunlopillow for many years.

I also use two pillow cases on each pillow.
But when going to sleep I use a foam knee pillow. I have neck issues and for years woke up with a headache. I'm a side sleeper. The knee pillow is shaped with a dip and supports my neck so well. No more headaches since the night I first used it. It is popped into the wardrobe during the day and the bed is dressed with the normal pillows. It cost just under £20 in Asda. I have two of them. One for my neck and one for my knees.

Pillows and me are a nightmare I have chronic osteoarthritis at the top of my spine/neck and down my spine coupled with fractured discs down my spine due to osteoporosis. Anything with a seam is awful/ I did have two pillowcases with only one seam and I made two more I need a new pillow and need on with no seam round the edge. I decided I must buy one as this one is so old and yes stained, why, I use two pillowcases but can't use a pillow protect because of the seams. Told my daughter I was buying a memory foam because of no seams and she tells me they can have. Now what do I do? I know exactly what you mean Flaxseed :-)

Wow - thank you all!

I hadn’t really thought about pillows being quite a personal thing, but I guess they are!
I now have quite a list to look through. grin

Bamboo pillows by Panda. I bought mine a year ago and they are far and away the best pillows I ever had. I miss them when I'm away!
Not cheap but worth every penny. And they're good for the planet and for asthmatics! Win win!

I can also vouch for them.
