Decent pillows!

Had a quick skim through and can’t find any posts recently regarding pillows although I feel sure it must have been asked before.
I need to invest in some decent pillows as I am fed up with them sagging in the middle, the fillings ending up in one place despite shaking and generally being uncomfortable. Myself and DP have both had bad necks recently and I’m sure it’s due to the horrid pillows.
I have always bought mid price range thinking they would suffice.
Whilst I don’t want to pay ridiculous prices, I am happy to pay a bit more than I previously have.

Please help! What are your best buys?
Thanks

Grammaretto

I saw those Hungarian goose down pillows today in John Lewis. They cost £90 each so I doubt I'll be getting them.

My pillows get grubby and discoloured. How do you clean the down ones?

They are expensive but worth it. I'd economise on an awful lot of things to afford pure goose down pillows. Cut out newspapers, buying cups of coffee, chocolate... good sleep is far more important, it affects all your health and energy.

We always use a pure cotton pillow protector under neath the pillowcase. Both get washed regularly. My pillow protectors are zipped, from the White company. decades old.

Down pillows can be washed and dried in domestic machines.

My favourite is a shaped memory foam pillow that supports my neck. Came from IKEA but I can’t remember what it cost, because I bought it so long ago. I use a stay cool cover (Lidl) over an ordinary pillowcase on it.

? maybe you are keeping them too long?
Just throw them out more often and start again.
I don't think you have to spend a lot.
I bought one from aldi or it could have been lidl a few months ago.
Was called lavender. Some kind of infused essence to aid sleep.
I don't notice any particular smell but I do sleep better.
I think it was about 12 pound. Maybe 15. Which is more that I usually pay but it's worth it.
Hope you find something.
Don't be taken in by fancy claims and exorbitant prices.

I would think the pillow problem is sorted.

A friend of mine used to joke that she had a pin eternal quest to find a comfortable pair of shoes, I have a similar quest to find decent pillows that don’t give me neck ache, I tried some M and S touch of silk bedding, the duvet is lovely but the pillow is not firm enough. I will go through this thread and take notes.

‘an eternal quest’

Having suffered from neck ache and stiffness to a degree that I was holding my neck for most of the day, I bought a 'Groove' pillow. After one night my neck was much improved, and after two nights sleep the stiffness and pain had gone - and has never returned. The pillows are around £29. Most support pillows are for either back or side sleepers - this one suits both, and the feeling of support, whichever way you lie, is excellent. I have tried wool pillows in the past but they became lumpy; the Groove pillow is the best I have ever had.

We love Groove pillows to having been converted from Memory foam.

I sleep on my side so I need a pillow that can be bent in the middle so my cheek is supported as well the back of my head.

I find that under- stuffed polyester fillings are best for this, also unlike feathers Polyester does not make me sneeze. I also like to have new pillows at frequent intervals and nice clean poly pillows are cheap to buy.

I sleep on my side too and my Groove pillow comes with that.
