Buy two singles. Read in one then transfer to the other to sleep.

Where would I put my DH? smile

Rosies21 I sleep sitting up,have done for the past 7/8 years and know what you mean about the mattress.
Currently we have a Dormeo S Plus mattress, it’s shaped and the two halves can be switched around depending on where you want the ‘dip’.
Have a look at their online site where it explains much better than I can the benefits.
It’s not terribly thick, I find it very comfortable..

I was always told it is better to buy a cheap bed but the most expensive mattress you can afford. This was when buying a new bed from John Lewis. A bit of advice I've never forgotten...

Can’t really make a recommendation, but some manufacturers do allow a trial period after purchase to make up one’s mind. DD2 is now on her third selection from the same range, while friend’s son has returned his, within the set time, for a full refund.

I’ve opted for one with an 18 year lifespan (allegedly).
It’s a bit firm, but with a deep topper, I hope it’ll see me out!

I need to buy a new bed. Unfortunately I don't sleep well, never have since being a child. I can spend hours sitting up reading for about 5 hours or so on a normal night, and just napping on and off. As a result my mattress always seems to dip where I'm sitting up. I've tried good pocket sprung mattresses, memory foam, umpteen toppers, etc., but all start dipping after about 9 months and get steadily worse until I have to replace them after 2 - 3 years, and each time I do loads of research to no avail. At the moment the saggy mattress is on a good divan base, so may just change the mattress. Any recommendations from night readers please?
