Resin drive cleaning

Thank you all for your comments......I have tried washing-up liquid and a stiff brush to no avail and have contacted the company who did the job in the first place for advice on cleaning it but if their products are not eco friendly then they will not be cleaning it.

Have you any paperwork from point of buying for info on cleaning or ring a company who lays them.

It might be worth an online search, looking at "Algon" patio cleaner - an "environmentally safe" product. (It is mentioned online as being safe for "resin" drives.)

Moss may increase ‘ biodiversity’ however it is very slippery and dangerous on the street I live on.

Myself and neighbours now walk in the road to avoid the mossy pavement after I had a nasty fall.

Unfortunately when I had my block paved driveway cleaned, it destabilized some of the sand/base. Might look into getting a quote to have it resin sealed.

I don’t know what a rein driveway. I’ve got a fairly large block paving front drive - just had it power washed , he first sprayed weed killer, kept it for 2 weeks, and then power washed it. Looks great - how long for, is another matter !!!

We have a resin driveway, and had the same problem last year. On a day when rain was forecast I sprinkled cheap biological detergent on it. After the rain, the moss turned brown and we swept it off. Success!

If the driveway is one you had made the contractor should be able to tell you how to clean it.

If it was a feature of the property when you moved in, find any supplier of these driveways and ask what to use to clean it - far safer than trying various products which might do more harm than good.

I've never heard of a resin driveway! Is it gravel mixed with a sort of plastic material?
I bet its great for stopping the weeds coming up.

We use a pressure washer on ours, it seems to work well.

I am about to try detergent powder on mine. I tried it on tarmac and it did kill the moss turning it brown. Then I brushed it off.

Have you tried Wet & Forget, it is really good and you don't have any scrubbing.

I would try a small patch with some diluted washing up liquid and a stiff brush then wash off with clean water and see how it looks.
