Resin drive cleaning

Has anyone ever tackled cleaning a resin driveway? Ours has moss stains in places and is looking a tad grubby. I don't want to use any harsh chemicals either as these will ultimately end up in the drains.
We would prefer to have a go ourselves as the area isn't that big rather than pay a commercial cleaner who might use nasty chemicals.

I would try a small patch with some diluted washing up liquid and a stiff brush then wash off with clean water and see how it looks.

Have you tried Wet & Forget, it is really good and you don't have any scrubbing.

I am about to try detergent powder on mine. I tried it on tarmac and it did kill the moss turning it brown. Then I brushed it off.

We use a pressure washer on ours, it seems to work well.

I've never heard of a resin driveway! Is it gravel mixed with a sort of plastic material?
I bet its great for stopping the weeds coming up.

If the driveway is one you had made the contractor should be able to tell you how to clean it.

If it was a feature of the property when you moved in, find any supplier of these driveways and ask what to use to clean it - far safer than trying various products which might do more harm than good.

We have a resin driveway, and had the same problem last year. On a day when rain was forecast I sprinkled cheap biological detergent on it. After the rain, the moss turned brown and we swept it off. Success!

I don’t know what a rein driveway. I’ve got a fairly large block paving front drive - just had it power washed , he first sprayed weed killer, kept it for 2 weeks, and then power washed it. Looks great - how long for, is another matter !!!

Biological washing powder - not liquid detergent.

Unfortunately when I had my block paved driveway cleaned, it destabilized some of the sand/base. Might look into getting a quote to have it resin sealed.

Hello,
Can you change to love the moss?
Adds new habitats to your piece of the planet in your guardianship. You’ll gain more biodiversity and increase resilience to our changing climate.
You’ll also help to reduce the pressure on our crumbling waste water systems by holding back rainfall on your drive in your super absorbent moss. If you worry about other people’s opinion of your “negligence” a little sign explaining that you have the planet’s and the community’s best interests at heart might help?? smile

Moss may increase ‘ biodiversity’ however it is very slippery and dangerous on the street I live on.

Myself and neighbours now walk in the road to avoid the mossy pavement after I had a nasty fall.

It might be worth an online search, looking at "Algon" patio cleaner - an "environmentally safe" product. (It is mentioned online as being safe for "resin" drives.)

Have you any paperwork from point of buying for info on cleaning or ring a company who lays them.

Thank you all for your comments......I have tried washing-up liquid and a stiff brush to no avail and have contacted the company who did the job in the first place for advice on cleaning it but if their products are not eco friendly then they will not be cleaning it.
