Just that really,
One you think someone infirm might manage easily?

I don't use one and can ask my adult children but I thought someone here may understand very simple ans what might be best!

Thank you

The very early models just had a mechanical timer you set for however minutes or seconds you needed. Even with that the user needs to understand cooking or heating times needed
The very basic ones have 2 knobs, one for high medium low, one for time

This is the Which? recommendation for a simple oven.
Available from Amazon.

‘Simple, but effective
It might be basic, but the Haden 195630 is one of the best microwaves we’ve tested. It heats, defrosts and steams well, and the controls couldn’t be any easier to use. If you’re after an easy-to-use microwave, look no further. It costs less than £70, too’

Beest thing is to go to somewhere like Currys, look at those on display, the really cheap ones, and then see how their controls work.

Mine was one of the cheapest, it has a timer switch and a power dial that you can just leave on high all the time and never touch or even tape over. No idea of make or origin. It isn't labelled.

Thank you all.
Much appreciated.

I expect the cheapest don't have so many options as the expensive ones!
Logical really!

I will do as you suggest and look at the Argos and Amazon versions mentioned - and will try to get out to Curry's next week too.

Maybe there are lots of easy ones - I just didn't know what I was looking for.

I always pop to Asda and buy one of their cheap basic machines which do the job . Mine was £40.

We recently bought an air fryer in Aldi for under £40 which is used every day and would be an alternative to a microwave. It’s really easy to manage and dh who does all the cooking has made some great meals of all sorts in it, veg meat fish pastry great chips too. it might be worth considering,
Micros leave pastry or bread or jacket pots etc soggy, where air fryers don’t. Good luck
