Anyone buying an air cooler. If so any advice?

We had one years ago but it appears it's no longer "somewhere in the garage" 🙄
Probably because "we never use it" 🙄

Anyway it was very efficient, and you can put ice cubes in the water tank which helps the cooling effect.
If I bought another one I think I'd use the ice cube bags and just refreeze them as required.

I too want to purchase something like this. We live in London and next week we will suffer another heatwave on top of the past two. I also feel increasingly unwell because our house gets oppressively hot.

We have one, bought from Probreeze three years ago, it’s great and blows cool air for hours, at least five, not tried it for longer. It goes on about 3pm until when the heat outsidereduces.

You are lucky crazyH. The heart recently made me feel unwell. This year has been the most uncomfortable yet hence my interest.

That may be true*Lovetopaint*, but is a very short term solution. The water will get warm quickly, then you are back to square one. Air conditioners not only cool the air, but can be reversed to warm it, a good thing in the winter. We have one in our conservatory…cheap to run.

Yes I have one, but hardly use it. It languishes in the garage. My house doesn’t get oppressively hot. I keep windows open.

I have now established the difference between air conditioners and air coolers. Air conditioners require a hose to release the hot air. They are expensive to run and install.
Air coolers do not need outside ventilation but require cool icy water to fill up a tank and this runs over some kind of honeycomb. The air it expels is very cold. You can also ..place it near an open window if you wish which is different from conventional air conditioning. Also the running costs are lower than air conditioning. Has anyone purchased one from Amazon which is working well? The reviews on there are very limited. As we now don’t drive we would like it delivered and Amazon are very convenient for us oldies. Any help or advice welcome.
