I need a new cylinder vacuum cleaner. Recommendations please.

I have a mix of hard and carpeted floors. I need one which can cope with DDs dog's hairs. Not too heavy. Preferably bagless. I gave up a very old cylinder Dyson which was too unwieldy and heavy and bought a small Bosch. But the suction is very poor. A lot of effort produces poor results.
