I am now 64 and the trustees of my pension scheme has just sent a statement saying the value of my pension is just over 11 times the amount of the pension I receive each year.
I know people of my age are generally expected to live till at least 80.
I have phoned the trustees and they just say '' don't worry'' it is a figure generated by the computer and they will pay my full pension even if I live to 115.
Does anybody understand this 11 year figure?.

Frank are they not quoting the national average age ? I wouldn't worry you may give yourself an ulcer and then where would you be,life is not for worrying.grin

Dad lived till he was nearly 90 and Mum lived until she was 81.
If Dad had been in the same pension scheme the value of his pension at the end of his life would have been -15 times the annual value of his pension.
Going on family trends I should live to 85+.
