Decent pension for all pensioners.

What I object to is a pensioner I know runs a new Jaguar and lives in a very large house worth about £1,000,000 on his own which he inherited from hs parents.
Surely some of his money should be used to give pensioners who have got virtually nothing a decent living standard.

Frank, I cannot believe that I am agreeing with you, that really is a first.

Good heavens, are you not 65 yet, Frank? I thought you were older.

Gerry's idea is absolutely ridiculous.
I contributed to my pension scheme to get a good pension for myself and my late wife did but sadly she is not around to enjoy it but I am sure she will want me to have some of it along with my daughter's and granddaughters.
It sounds as if Gerry is like some of the people who I worked with who did not contribute anything to a pension scheme and they are now annoyed that I am better off than them.
I can only agree with what the other posters have said in this thread.
Gerry and some other people should be thanking me for all of the tax I am now paying which amounts to more than the state pension and I will be paying more when I get to state pension age.

Perhaps there should be an emoticom [wooden spoon]!

HildaW Wed 15-May-13 14:32:21

OOOOer shysal, you suspect a...................da....da...daaaaa..........a plot?????

gillybob Wed 15-May-13 14:32:14

Ha ha ha bentley49 ! grin

Just wit until Frank hears about this idea. The thought of him giving away a penny of his well earned "London Pension" will be too much for him to bear!

Charleygirl Wed 15-May-13 14:31:47

I am in total agreement with HildaW. I worked very hard for my reasonable pension whereas I know many who did not bother. I am sorry but what is mine is mine.

shysal Wed 15-May-13 14:30:34

I think Bentley is just teasing Frank, as he has done before. Let us wait for the response! It is strange that their posting style is similar! wink

Movedalot Wed 15-May-13 14:29:59

But that would take away what little incentive there still is to save! Why would anyone put their hard earned cash into a pension knowing that they had to give some of it away?

HildaW Wed 15-May-13 14:26:35

Err.....you sure about this? If I've earned a decent amount, put a fair part of this aside for a pension but am then expected to share it with others who have not? Not sure you will sell that idea to many. It may be highly commendable but methinks many would baulk at it.

Instead of some pensioners getting excessive amounts and some getting very little why not use the money in the pension funds to give all pensioners a decent pension.
