I heard the letterbox bang at 4.45am this morning.
When I went to investigate a found a pile of leaflets had been put through my letterbox from several different companies.
Does anybody know if it is legal to deliver leaflets at that time?.

Yes, according to the 'Delivery of Junk Mail and Other Garbage Act of 1987' subsection 2/iv it is legal to deliver providing it contains no offensive material.

They are not allowed to ring the doorbell to announce the delivery, though, Frank, so at least you didn't have to answer the door.

Get one of those notices "NO JUNK MAIL HERE", and stick it on the letter box.I,me going to get one this week, as I,me sick of "Pizza and curry house" leaflets. They go straight in the bin.Good luck with that, HUNTERF.

Whilst 4.45am is early for mail deliveries have you thought maybe it is an early riser pensioner who is trying to suppliment their income ? I would go down the "No Junk Mail" route for your front door as suggested.

Hunter old bean. From now on you will have to stand guard at your door, preferably in uniform and demand of anyone who dares to venture anywhere near your letter box with a firm 'Who goes there?' If they fail to answer .......set Andy on them. wink
