Pensions being paid while parents are still alive.

I know of a few cases where the offspring are claiming their pension at the same time as their parents.
As they are likely to follow their parents on length of life I think the offspring should work until both parents have been deceased for 5 years and not be paid any pension during that 5 years occupational or state.

I don't think anyone is, Greatnangrin

Ana Thu 04-Jul-13 19:13:44

I actually agree! Regardless of whether or not Frank and Bentley are the same person, this thread is one of those ridiculous statements of opinion which the OP knows will create a stir...

Aka Thu 04-Jul-13 19:14:10

Yes, Nonu I think, no, I'm sure it was because the person reported my comment and now.....

Aka Thu 04-Jul-13 19:16:07

And re the OP, of course no one is taking it seriously.

Ana Thu 04-Jul-13 19:16:44

I don't think either Frank or Bentley would dream of reporting your post, Aka! grin

Nonu Thu 04-Jul-13 19:16:49

AKA, wonder who reported your comment ?

Ana Thu 04-Jul-13 19:17:13

Or anyone else's, of course...

Nonu Thu 04-Jul-13 19:19:10

ANA, are you being a scamp ?

grin

Aka Thu 04-Jul-13 19:19:26

I couldn't possibly speculate! wink

Nonu Thu 04-Jul-13 19:20:54

Oh go on, pretty please , or your lips sealed ?

annodomini Thu 04-Jul-13 19:27:11

Who's going to report Ariadne? grin

Ana Thu 04-Jul-13 19:35:05

No, I was actually being serious, Nonu! And Charleygirl's post would have to be reported too...

Nonu Thu 04-Jul-13 19:42:53

EM , why if I may ask , I did not see any particular harm in them !

jeanie99 Thu 04-Jul-13 19:46:34

I think the big wooden spoon as been stirring things up.

Ana Thu 04-Jul-13 19:50:42

Nonu, I think we're at cross-purposes here! grin
I was just saying that I doin't think either Frank or Bentley would take offence at any post questioning whether they were one and the same person - let alone be bothered enough to report it! wink

Nonu Thu 04-Jul-13 20:04:32

I agree ANA , so who would be bothered to take the time it report , it all seems faintly riduculous to me .

annodomini Thu 04-Jul-13 21:17:31

Is it possible that someone at HQ noticed the post and decided to delete it? Does a post have to be reported by one of us to be deleted? I can't believe that any regular poster would be bothered to report something so trivial which doesn't do any harm to anyone. Come to that, how many of us read the guidelines so minutely as to know that this contravenes them?

Ariadne Thu 04-Jul-13 21:38:28

Still waiting! Interesting...grin

Elegran Thu 04-Jul-13 21:38:47

Was it on this thread? If it was it has not only been deleted but completely annihilated.

Elegran Thu 04-Jul-13 21:43:39

Must have been somewhere else long enough ago to slip down the timeline and disappear. I don't remember it. The theory has been around for some time anyway, I can't imagine it offending anyone's sensibilities if it was just wondering. Similar theories have been expressed about other pairs of posters without deletions.

j08 Thu 04-Jul-13 21:46:31

It's quite likely that someone from HQ saw the post and deleted it to avoid hurt.

Faye Thu 04-Jul-13 22:04:59

Why not write a post so you can argue with yourself, gives you purpose if you have nothing else better to do with your life. hmm

Nonu Thu 04-Jul-13 22:27:31

Gadzooks , FAYE . grin

At the end of the day I could not see Gerry's proposals becoming law.
