Nothing to do with gransnet

In a volunteer situation, if you receive an email along with a couple of other people, and its content is probably not meant for public broadcast, who owns that email?

I have read several things on google, and I dont think that that is right.
But if you can point me to where you get that from, I would be very grateful.

I THINK when you receive an email, it's yours, just like a letter would be. But I would respect the privacy of the sender and not share what they don't intend to be shared - again, same if it were in a letter.

Then again, I know a lot of sites won't let you share PMs on the board. So maybe I'm wrong. But those are probably site rules, not the law, so maybe I'm not.

The thing is, I would respect someone's privacy, regardless, except maybe in very extenuating circumstances.

That being said, I usually wouldn't put anything that private in black & white.
