I'm sure there's an online form you can fill in to take it with you.

State pensions end when you die.If your DH or partner is old enough, he will get one anyway.

When my husband died, I contacted the DWP to tell them, and his pension was stopped straightaway. They inadvertently made an extra payment a few days after he died, and wrote asking me to repay it, which I did do.

The only thing is, this is for Northern Ireland - is it the same in England, do you know?

Are you talking about State pension or a private pension?

..not that I'm hoping too soon! I am in a relationship and if that leads to marriage in, say, a year, what happens if I die first? Would my DH continue to receive any payment?

I have looked on pensions website and references all seem to relate to marriage before 26 Apr 2016 which obviously will not apply.

The rules will probably have changed anyway, but what would happen under the current rules?

Sorry if this has been posted before but I couldn't find it..
