Refund of LPA fees

What's an LPA?

It's a Lasting Power of Attorney Jane10. We took ours out in July last year, so no refund for us!

Thank you for this. Have done mine and also tried to email about what happens when a donor has died recently? I was attorney for DH and my aunt who died in 2017 and 2016 respectively. The refunds inbox is full so will try again later and post any response.

We got a reduction on the fees on the grounds of income. It did not take savings into account at all.

Forgot to say, that if you are e titled to a refund but paid reduced fees, you will get half the refund due back

A reminder that if you set up a LPA between April 2013 to 31 March 2017 you are due a refund of part of the fees. It is very easy to apply for the refund online.

If you registered after the cut off date, you will have paid the lower fee.

I missed this thread in February so thanks for bumping it up. I’m also due £100+ as is DH.

Thank you maryeliza, I've passed the information on to my sister who had LPA for my Dad, as she was the one closest to him, and took over his affairs when the dementia meant he couldn't manage himself.

OldMeg, I had a refund of £94 altogether for both kinds of LPA. All very welcome!

We had ours done, by solicitors, when we re-made our wills, so I don't suppose anything will be refundable.

Auntie fly, still worth applying . The claim procedure is very simple but you could phone them if you paid via your solicitor. Or phone your solicitor and ask.
