Auntieflo. Flipping predictive text again!

Niobe Sat 21-Apr-18 18:31:43

Auntie fly, still worth applying . The claim procedure is very simple but you could phone them if you paid via your solicitor. Or phone your solicitor and ask.

We had ours done, by solicitors, when we re-made our wills, so I don't suppose anything will be refundable.

Sorry...predictive spelling gone mad ? ..I meant one for Health and the other for Finance

crazyH Sat 21-Apr-18 13:59:13

OldMeg, I had a refund of £94 altogether for both kinds of LPA. All very welcome!

Thank you maryeliza, I've passed the information on to my sister who had LPA for my Dad, as she was the one closest to him, and took over his affairs when the dementia meant he couldn't manage himself.

I missed this thread in February so thanks for bumping it up. I’m also due £100+ as is DH.

PamelaJ1 Thu 29-Mar-18 12:33:47

No refund for me but thanks anyway.?

Wobblybits Thu 29-Mar-18 11:15:46

If you registered after the cut off date, you will have paid the lower fee.

Scribbles Thu 29-Mar-18 10:30:38

Thanks, Maryeliza. I hadn't heard of this and I'm off to make my claim now!

MamaCaz Thu 29-Mar-18 09:34:00

Ah - it was registered four days too late!

Never mind - thanks anyway for sharing this with us smile

MamaCaz Thu 29-Mar-18 09:29:04

Thanks for this. I will check later to see if my mum's falls into that catagory.

Bumping this thread up.
A reminder that if you set up a LPA between April 2013 to 31 March 2017 you are due a refund of part of the fees. It is very easy to apply for the refund online.

I should be on 10% commission ??

Niobe Sun 18-Feb-18 17:45:36

Thank you Maryeliza54 for telling us about this. We checked and applied online. Should get £180 back!

maryeliza54 Sun 18-Feb-18 15:53:57

Forgot to say, that if you are e titled to a refund but paid reduced fees, you will get half the refund due back

Luckygirl Sun 18-Feb-18 14:47:20

We got a reduction on the fees on the grounds of income. It did not take savings into account at all.

This gives a good introduction. You can reclaim if the donor has died too Alygran

Alygran Sun 18-Feb-18 11:33:36

Thank you for this. Have done mine and also tried to email about what happens when a donor has died recently? I was attorney for DH and my aunt who died in 2017 and 2016 respectively. The refunds inbox is full so will try again later and post any response.

Eglantine21 Sun 18-Feb-18 10:53:55

Thanks maryeliza. On my way to the computer now!

Bathsheba Sun 18-Feb-18 10:45:34

It's a Lasting Power of Attorney Jane10. We took ours out in July last year, so no refund for us!

Jane10 Sun 18-Feb-18 10:40:45

What's an LPA?

maryeliza54 Sun 18-Feb-18 10:39:32

I very recently found out about these refunds - if you took out an LPA between April 2013 and March 2017 you are due a refund per LPA of between £34-54. I’ve just filled in the very easy online claim form for both of us and will be getting a total refund of £180. You only have to fill in the form once per donor as they then look up how many LPAs you have in your name. I haven’t read much about this so thought I’d post
