Scam takes a new direction

After a few weeks of peace, the scam calls have started up here again. These are the foreign ones which have long silences and clicks at the start, mispronounced names and heavy accents. They also sound like they are being made from a huge empty bathroom. I'll post the rest below so this is not too long.

Please DON'T. A whistle down a phone line can cause an ear drum to rupture. Do remember that these poor people at the call centres making these calls to you are just trying to earn some money for themselves and their families.
Why blow whistle or anything -just put the receiver down.

Ditto to TruCall. Elderly neighbours of ours now have it. There is no dementia but one of them is very naive and trusting, and had already been scammed (by phone) out of a lot of money.

seventhfloorregular. I agree but, you would ring back anyway if there were no answer so, the recipient has not lost anything.
