*phoenix*. As I understand it the £6 is an allowance so you can deduct it from income before paying tax. The actual financial gain is tiny.
It has nothing at all to do with employers.

It can be claimed for the whole tax year, even if you work from home for just one day. It’s for help with extra expenses, such as heating.
Think ML said it’s £60 for basic rate tax payers, and £120 for higher rate payers.

I like 'folks' but it's just personal preference. They may as well scrap the £10 Christmas bonus for all as it makes little difference. Why not just give it to those onPension Credit?

I m a girl guy and have no problem with being called a guy so speak for yourself ngaio It has become a totally acceptable non gender based way of referring to folks

Haven’t had our letter as yet, but I thought it was usually early Dec.I know it was late last year for some reason.

Aha, you mean the Warm Home Discount - nope, I don't qualify (for anything, ever).

We had our letters last week. I think the payment normally comes through round about the 17th November.

We got our letters today. This is my first year. DH got £200 each year, now he gets £100 and I get £100. He very kindly said I could have his as I feel the cold. ??
