£150 off Council Tax fuel assistance, and those that do not pay Council Tac

I note that some councils have now started sending out to people this £150. to assist towards increased fuel charges. They are doing so by sending the money to the bank accounts from which they get their Council Tax paid.

I have understood that everybody is entitled to this assistance - even those of us who are exempt from paying Council Tax due to being on guaranteed Pension Credit.

Just wondering how people like myself will receive this money - or do we have to make a claim for it.

I have just submitted a query form to my local council and look forward to their reply - but wondered if anyone had any further information.

I pay Council Tax by DDr (band D) and have still not received my £150.

Have you looked on your council's website? I did look on ours and it doesn't say when this must be paid by, but yours may.

Having said that I did find who was getting extra discretionary money.

This is my council - other will do it differently

The government has given us extra funds to support vulnerable households.

To support as many people as we can, we will provide:

£150 for households in bands E to H who are in receipt of council tax support or are exempt from council tax on health grounds
£100 for households in bands A to D who are in receipt of council tax support and have children living in the property

My local council sent me a voucher to take to the local post office. Not a lot of help as I am a disabled non driver. I had to give it to my nephew along with my passport and a letter of authority. I am £400 in credit on the electricity so I used the money off my council tax bill.

One of my (male) relatives got a payment of £350 and spent it all on a VR headset. I call that extremely foolish but what can you do? He is supposed to be an adult.

I received this £150 last week, via a letter from my local council which I had to take to the post office.
