Stansgran OMG it was the Halifax bank ...on first visit with form which i had not fully completed, the staff were helpful and printed out a full statement of my account with the IBAN/SWIFT codes etc and said to return with 2 pieces of ID which i did on 2nd visit. However, the Branch manager and 2 members of staff (which weren't the staff on previous visit and didn't think to get their names,) were not helpful in fact, one was quite intimidating...you would think I was attempting to commit fraud by receiving foreign funds...could not believe how challenging this visit was and also embarrassing for me. There was a queue and people were watching/listening...will never enter this branch again...I said why was i getting conflicting information from the 1st visit to this visit...all 3 female staff kept saying.."we don't verify this information anymore?" i said well if I wanted to open a new account, how would i verify my personal information to you...was met with glares..absolutely shocking customer service..so at end of month will close existing account as have payments going in and out with the account i was intending my euro exchange which they CHARGE a fee for converting, to maybe Lloyds. Can you confirm the fee they charge for converting the Euros to Pound Sterling or, do Lloyds just set it up in Euros?
