Has anyone been successful in claiming their pension from an EU country recently? Am due a small pension but when I took the trilingual form to my bank for it to be paid into, they refused to accept the form even tho i had 2 pieces of ID with me. I was shocked to be told they could not stamp this form which confirmed my bank account info with them. I've banked with them for nearly 30 yrs and once i receive my UK State Pension also due; I will have to find another bank who will process the EU country payment. Any recommendations please of a good helpful banking organisation?

I have a small pension from France. I found Lloyds helpful but it was the local manager who looked on it as a challenge. When he moved on and was replaced by a female manager the French did not accept her signature on the annual proof of existence which I had to fill in. The Halifax were not helpful.

We have multiple pensions from the Netherlands which are paid directly into our HSBC account. I don't remember having to fill out any forms to receive them - the pension companies just took our word for it. One of them is a government pension.
We receive the money in Euros and the bank changes them into pounds we were not allowed an account where we could have kept them in Euros.
This may have changed since Brexit.

Stansgran OMG it was the Halifax bank ...on first visit with form which i had not fully completed, the staff were helpful and printed out a full statement of my account with the IBAN/SWIFT codes etc and said to return with 2 pieces of ID which i did on 2nd visit. However, the Branch manager and 2 members of staff (which weren't the staff on previous visit and didn't think to get their names,) were not helpful in fact, one was quite intimidating...you would think I was attempting to commit fraud by receiving foreign funds...could not believe how challenging this visit was and also embarrassing for me. There was a queue and people were watching/listening...will never enter this branch again...I said why was i getting conflicting information from the 1st visit to this visit...all 3 female staff kept saying.."we don't verify this information anymore?" i said well if I wanted to open a new account, how would i verify my personal information to you...was met with glares..absolutely shocking customer service..so at end of month will close existing account as have payments going in and out with the account i was intending my euro exchange which they CHARGE a fee for converting, to maybe Lloyds. Can you confirm the fee they charge for converting the Euros to Pound Sterling or, do Lloyds just set it up in Euros?

dragonfly46 what do HSBC charge monthly for the conversion rate? I think since we exited the EU, and I was a fervent Remainer, a lot of banking systems must have changed??
