Best car insurance for low mileage

We do about 4000 miles a year in our car. Is there such a thing as an insurance company that deals with folk like us who don’t drive a lot? Or Is it wishful thinking on my part?!

Most insurance companies do these days. They have different yearly mileage bands which lower your insurance.

My husband has just signed up with By Miles. It's for people who don't do much mileage. They send you a gadget for your car and it measures the miles. You pay a premium, if you do less miles they refund you. It's a bona fide company underwritten by Zurich. This is NOT a recommendation as we've not been with them long but my husband researches everything and says it's a good deal.

We got money back from Direct Line after lockdown because we had done so few miles!

Compare the market, or Confused.com

Go to a broker. They get the best deals. I don't like online comparison sites as, basically, they're just harvesting your details and you're opening yourself to a mass of spam .

Thank you for the hint about By Miles. Sounds very good, I've set up a reminder for later in the year. ?

I’ve just had £43 returned by Direct Line for low mileage - I had the same last year.

I have used comparison sites and have no problem with spam, but I do have AdBlocker installed.

M0nica your details will have been checked by credit companies. I'm sure that's fine but I was quite taken aback to be informed by Experian that several insurance companies had been running checks on me after I tried one of these comparison sites. It wasn't a problem but I really resented my details being shared around without my permission. These comparison sites have to make their money somewhere!
Also, the broker got me a quote that was hundreds lower than the ones on the comparison site.

I usually just look at the results, but do not go any further. I do not actually get my insurance through the site.

My car insurance is so low, the variation is only ever 10s of £'s, I usually go direct to SAGA or the AA
