Benefits: DWP announcement for PIP review claimants

Does this mean that all of us who have already completed our review form are reprieved for another year? I had to fill out my review form in April. The letter said in no uncertain terms that it had to be returned by a certain date and what would happen if I didn't. I duly sent my form off by the due date and haven't even received an acknowledge. I have been in limbo ever since. I feel sick each day until the postman has been just in case that's the day I find they have decided that I've recovered from an illness that I won't recover from. The stress of a PIP review is overwhelming.

I don't think this is the best place to ask boheminan. I would start a thread under "Chat" if I wanted information on that.

This is a thread about a specific benefit and best left to just that topic, in my opinion.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask...but has anyone here heard of Human Health Service (HHS) which seems to be based in America and seems similar to our DWP but covers this country too. An American friend of mine is trying to persuade me to look into it. I've not heard of it before, so feel a tad suspicious...

If you are going to make remarks like that Su22 there is nothing anyone on here can do. You ought to report them.

There are always a minority of people who will "play the system".
But it's not a reason to make it overly difficult and complicated for genuine claimants.
At least with this extension, some will be relieved of the stress for a while.

Good news for the genuine claimants but I know of two people that claim it and no way they should get it, one of them hasn't worked for years due to a bad back but manages to do cash-in-hand building jobs and another manages to do various cash-in-hand cleaning jobs.

Sadly, I don't think this was done out of the kindness of feeling for those applying but because they are so far behind.

It was outsourced to Capita so I assume it still is. I hope they are being fined.

What a relief for people, this process is painful. We had to go through it a few times with my husband who had terminal cancer and a DS1500 (considered less than 12 months to live). Huge form to fill in and phone interview! Why, oh why?

This will be good news for many.
The process can be very stressful.
