What 'The Energy Cap" will mean

Radio 4's excellent Wednesday morning (9 a.m.) programme looked at what the likely cost of the Energy Cap will mean to individual households - and to the country.

Thought it might be worth flagging up because I heard someone say something that suggested their annual household bill COULDN'T GO beyond the Truss limit.

More Or Less unpicked this.

Thank you Vintagenonna. I'll have a listen as I don't think I quite get it yet.

Hi, FarNorth

I hadn't realised the disparity in the rise in the costs of electricity and gas. Heavy gas-using households (like ours with our geriatric gas aga) will feel the pinch a lot more than households who rely more on electricity.

I’m not sure if I’ve imagined it, but I heard a snatch of an item on the radio, where (Goldman Sachs?) it’s forecast the price of gas will actually plummet!

Anyone help me out.

Can’t believe I’ve been so stupid!!! GS is American and the ‘gas’ being talked about is gasoline - petrol!

Easy mistake!
