How many years have you and yours been married, or together, whichever applies to you? Today is our 48th wedding anniversary, heaven only knows how we`re still together, you don`t get that long for murder, and I`ve come pretty close to committing that at times!

Gagagran my DD is 50 on Friday so while you were getting married with all that excitement I was in labour with all that entails. She was born at 11:25 PM so you would have been well and truly married by then. Congratulations and have a wonderful weekend.

Gagagran Mon 06-Jul-15 16:00:55

It's 50 years for us on Friday 10 July (though it was a Saturday in 1965). We have a family weekend planned to celebrate and be thankful. smile

I've only got married twice, once when I was twenty-one and again when I was forty-two so, if DH is being tiresome, I occasionally remind him that my being sixty-three and ready to continue the pattern of marrying every twenty-one years, is getting closer.

thatbags Fri 03-Jul-15 19:43:54

Added up it comes to about 37. I think.

Greyduster Fri 03-Jul-15 18:35:04

We got married in '66, Boggles - NanKate is right - you can clock up a few more! Well done!

NanKate Fri 03-Jul-15 17:57:58

Boggles are you sure your calculator is right because we got married October 1971 and it will be our 44th this year, so it's 48 for you I believe.

annsixty Fri 03-Jul-15 17:23:54

So sorry to hear of even more problems for you number I hope he improves soon but I also hope they keep him in for a while to make sure he is ok but to give you a much needed break flowers

boggles Fri 03-Jul-15 16:50:36

We met in '63 and got married in '67 (gets calculator ) so that's 44 years at the end of this month.

Pompa Would you like to borrow my calculator ?

Hot weather can't be helping numberplease -with either the breathing or the appetite . flowers for you.

numberplease Fri 03-Jul-15 14:18:21

Belated Happy Anniversary Greyduster.
Hubby no better, no worse, still having breathing problems, plus his appetite`s gone, won`t eat. Thanks for asking.

Well said GreyDuster. We will have clocked up 46 this month I think. We got married the day they set foot on the moon. It helps reminding me to buy a card.

Greyduster Thu 02-Jul-15 15:47:16

Our very best wishes to all who are toiling away womanfully (and manfully) at the marital grindstone!

Maggiemaybe Thu 02-Jul-15 14:53:38

Congratulations where appropriate to all of you with long-standing happy marriages, and commiserations where appropriate to those of you with long-standing unhappy ones! flowerswine cupcake

Is 63 years the record so far (*PRINTMISS*), or have I missed something?

I thought my old lad and I were going strong, but we haven't even clocked up our 38th yet. We're mere striplings. grin

joannapiano Thu 02-Jul-15 14:22:03

Easy answer – too many!

kittylester Thu 02-Jul-15 06:02:48

Oh * number*, how is your DH now? sad

Belated congratulations Jud. flowers

numberplease Thu 02-Jul-15 00:49:59

The 13th of this month will be our 52nd anniversary. We never got to go out for the family meal booked for our 50th, because hubby was in hospital. A meal has been booked for our 52nd, but the meal is on the 11th, but it`s looking a distinct possibility that it will be cancelled yet again, because he`s back in hospital, having had a heart attack. One of these days, we might have that meal!
Happy Anniversary, Judthepud2, and Mr Judthepud2!

Judthepud2 Wed 01-Jul-15 22:57:45

Nellie so hard for you! sad

We have been married 43 years today. Not always perfect and lots of ups and downs but we are there for each other in good and bad times. He is the most untidy person I know but a great 'fixer' and a loving father and grandfather. I would be lost without him.

kittylester Wed 01-Jul-15 16:05:51

Nellie, that's very sad! sad

bramblelover Wed 01-Jul-15 16:04:28

Numberplease. 48 years for us last month too. Three couples with whom we are very close have been married the same number of years. Come to think of it all of them are all pretty whacky but great fun to be with . Is that a factor do you think ? Laughter is so important. Congratulations and here's to many more.

Nelliemoser Wed 01-Jul-15 15:17:02

Very nearly 40yrs. On 12/7. I am not sure it's memorable. There's nothing in particular and nothing nasty. I am just living with a person who is very wearing, and it's taken it's toll on me.
