How many years wed?

It chucked it down here yesterday, pompa, so it WAS an awful day - but I hope you and your good lady had a LOVELY day today! Happy anniversary!

44 years today, only seems like yesterday. (and we all know what an awful day yesterday was !! )

Our Ruby wedding in October - going away with friends who are also celebrating their Ruby on the same day. Amazing really as I nearly walked out during year 1!

Thank You Numberplease. I'm sorry to say it was a really boring day. DH did give me a nice little celtic knot brooch tho'.

43 years in August. My DH keeps saying it will never last.

Its our 38th anniversary today.

We met at Uni, in my all womens hall of residence actually. He also proposed in the same building, during the annual Hall Ball. Ah! The last of the great romantics!

BYT, after reading the fantastic endorsements on Gransnet, I did suggest I bought her a shewee --- she hit me !!! why?

We gave up on the present buying thing years ago. IF the weather is good to us, we will head for Aldburgh beach for a picnic, with a cold bottle of wine, French bread etc. and a fresh crab from one of the fishing huts, perfect.

pompa there will be big trouble if you leave it at a card, get youself out tomorrow and sort it out.

pompa, don't leave it until Friday. You must be thinking about it all night, spending tomorrow buying / arranging / plotting / planning and THEN spoiling her rotten on Friday ... and I'm sure she'll spoil you rotten too!

I only have two relatives older than me. One is my fathers little sister, the other my mother's little sister - and she is only 5 years older than me.

Congratulations Elegran, and to Mr. Elegran as well. The thing about missing guests applies to us as well. I really started to feel old when I recently realised that I only have one relative still alive who`s older than me, my cousin, and he`s 3 years older than me!

Snap, numberplease we were married 48 years ago today. It doesn't seem that long, but a lot of the guests at that wedding are no longer with us.

We had our 40th anniversary in February and were planning a good holiday to celebrate. Unfortunately (actually fortunately if I am honest) I had a hip replacement instead so big holiday on the back burner for a bit.

40 on 1st September .........................

First marriage seven years, he got the itch, and I was fed up with him anyway. Second one nearly 35 years, I think it has just become a 'habit'!!! When I met him he was a dashing 43 years old, now he is just a grumpy old 78, whilst I am a happy busy 64 year old.

Same here pompa, met 1st July 1963 and married October 1967.

We met in '63 and got married in '67 (gets calculator ) so that's 44 years at the end of this month.

We had our 45th anniversary last week - I came down with some bug and DH held my head while I was throwing my dinner and champagne down the lav in the middle of the night! How's that for marital devotion? Actually, then he came down with it, so the roles were reversed. I expect that's what it's all about really....

We've been married 23 years. It's the second time for me. The first lasted 6 years and seemed like an eternity and this one has just flown by. People tutted when we got married too because I was 31 and had a boy of 8 and he was 22. Hey ho - we've never been bothered by the age difference and we have had 3 more children. Sometimes I could kill him and sometimes I love him to distraction and I know he feels the same!
