Feeling very envious that Scottish Grannies have got themselves organised.
Are there any grannies within striking distance of a Midlands centre who would like to do the same? I am in Milton Keynes but trains to Brum are frequent and fast. Any takers?

I was up at 6.30 - just finished breakfast and having my essential cup of coffee before getting ready to be at Maniacs by 9.15 - looking forward to meeting you all

iI won`t ask anyone to wait around for me, (my train`s due in at 11.54, hint hint!!) just in case there are delays, but I`ll be on the lookout for any ladies in purple, green and white, so prepare to be accosted!! Now I`m tgerrified of not hearing the alarm at 6am!

You'll know it if you bump into us three![ evil]grin
Did I tell anyone ?
maniac. Is scarey!

petallus Fri 05-Oct-12 20:53:02

That's kind jeni but maybe not in case New Street is so chaotic we miss each other.

I don't mind finding my own way but am also excited in case I bump into anyone.

jeni Fri 05-Oct-12 20:49:31

petallus do you want us to wait for you?

jeni Fri 05-Oct-12 20:48:24

That's what I thought. I'm a Brum uni grad.

crimson Fri 05-Oct-12 20:40:34

My mum lost many babies before I was born, one of which was a boy who lived longer than the others. I often think of him; my lost brother. I was the only one who lived. I can't imagine what it must be like to have brothers and sisters.

petallus Fri 05-Oct-12 20:35:48

DH who is a Brummie reckons you come out of the station and turn left up into Victoria Square with a statue of Queen V and then you will see our venue opposite the town hall.

I shall be arriving at New Street at 12.16 (fingers crossed).

Sad about the lost babies. I've never had that misfortune but my mother did and we've always remembered my sister who died at a couple of weeks old.

JessM Fri 05-Oct-12 20:35:03

oh dear, It has been a week of it on GN hasn't it. sniff.
Good that there are some get togethers.

crimson Fri 05-Oct-12 20:29:39

I'd like to think, then, that the little boy has brought us all together to be there for you, gracesmum.

JessM Fri 05-Oct-12 20:24:49

Hugs for you too then, you'll get them on MK station concourse tomorrow morning gracesmum. sad

glitabo Fri 05-Oct-12 20:23:15

Oh gracesmum

jeni Fri 05-Oct-12 20:23:02

I hope we'll be able to help you. I too lost a child at about that time, but it was an ectopic.
I'm really looking forward to meeting you in the flesh! Regards to your R.

gracesmum Fri 05-Oct-12 20:17:48

I am so glad I am doing something fun tomorrow. On 6 October, 39 years ago I gave birth to our our first baby - our darling little boy, who in his short life brought us 24 days of joy, pain and love.sunshine Sleep well little one x

jeni Fri 05-Oct-12 19:59:10

We three, maniac barrow and myself arrive at 11.26.
If anybody else is around that time , shall we meet in new street station concourse?

If so , please add below.

eGJ Fri 05-Oct-12 19:54:10

Have a great time all of you smile

Oldgreymare Fri 05-Oct-12 19:40:26

Thanks Jeni smile

crimson Fri 05-Oct-12 19:40:07

Not too bothered about there being 4 entrances al long as there's only one tearooms. Now that would confuse me. From memory if you leave the station by where Rackhams [now House of Fraser?] is, turn left and keep walking up towards the Town Hall you can't miss it.

jeni Fri 05-Oct-12 19:35:09

If you bring a LNG rope with you . You can put it round my waist and I'll tow you!grin
