Now that the year is no longer very 'new', is it time to think about when we can meet up again? What would you say to a date in February? Any takers?

Hello NW Gransnetters. I'm relatively new to Gransnet, having joined in the summer of last year, shortly after the birth of our first grandchild. As the editor of Chester Gransnet Local local.gransnet.com/chester, I'd love to join a Gransnet meet-up. 15 Feb would be a possible date for me and either of the two venues mentioned would be suitable, provided, of course, that it would be OK with you if I were to join you.

Oh dear, I'm so sorry - we're losing the opportunity to see some Gransnetters this time, so shall we agree a venue that is nearer to the Lancs side/M62, on a Saturday, in a few weeks time? If we keep rotating,we can ensure everyone is included. smile

Sewsilver Thu 07-Feb-13 18:59:24

Don't think I can make the Friday either. How disappointing

The Trafford centre was so easy to find last time it would be my preference again, but obviously, I'll go along with the majority.

whenim64 Wed 06-Feb-13 19:42:41

Oh, that's a shame. We were hoping you would be able to come along. Let's hope next time you'll be with us smile

Nelliemoser Wed 06-Feb-13 19:37:38

I can't make it this time When. Have a lovely time and keep me posted about the next one.

Hi everyone. From responses so far, it looks like we will be plumping for Friday 15th, as some Gransnetters can't make the Saturday. Hopefully Bags will be able to join us. There's a choice of venues - either The Coach House at the Trafford Centre or The Stable Door, near the Denton junction on the M60. Both are Brewers Fayre pub/resaurants.

Shall we plan to meet at 12 noon and get lunch at 12.30? Preferences for venue?

annodomini Sun 03-Feb-13 21:33:40

We're using you as bait, Bags.

Bags Sun 03-Feb-13 20:14:46

You won't need to, butty. There's no chance she'd forget!

anno, "the prospect of meeting Bags" – oh heck! wink grin

Butty Sun 03-Feb-13 18:36:39

when I shall be holding you to that! smile

annodomini Sun 03-Feb-13 17:07:31

whenim64 Sat 02-Feb-13 20:35:20

Butty......one day. I live 5 minutes from the airport. A lift would be easy grin

You will be with us in spirit smile

Butty Sat 02-Feb-13 20:30:05

when In an idle moment I checked out the flights from Paris to Manchester - crazy costs! Ah well, one day! smile
Actually, it's probably a good thing, as someone would have had to pick me up from the airport, find somewhere for me to lay my head etc. etc. grin

whenim64 Sat 02-Feb-13 20:20:36

Can we agree a date now? Bags is going to be around on 15/16th so I'm assuming one of those. Please could you shout out if you're joining us and I'll book the venue. Thanks smile

annodomini Sat 02-Feb-13 19:35:43

Calling NW G'netters*: *Bags will be in the area in mid February and is keen to meet us. She has suggested the 15th or 16th so please would you let me and/or when know which date would suit you better? Also, there is the subject of venue. We have enjoyed our meet-ups at the Coach House beside the Trafford Centre but another suggestion is Stable Gate near the M60 motorway at Denton. Both are equally accessible from the motorway network, though on opposite sides of Manchester.

i can't beleive there are no gransnet members in Dorset just me, where are you dorset ladies???if this is true it is time i spread the word for recruits...dorset is such a beautiful county but compared to some counties sparsley populated....so how nice it would be, if those that are interested arranged a meet up some time, such as Poole dorset which is an easy town to get to.....by bus or train....i hope to hear from you dorset ladies.......Lillian.

Ella46 Fri 11-Jan-13 15:07:22

nellieM it's in the centre of Wilmslow, you can't miss it! Every 4 weeks, lots of different types of food stalls, to eat out or take home, usual craft type stalls, etc.

Grannyeggs Fri 11-Jan-13 14:35:34

Have just realised won't be back from holiday then, but thanks and hope you have a good time. Cheelu where do you live ?I live in London and could meet near there. We did a South East meet last year, we could start a new thread and perhaps have another one.

cheelu Fri 11-Jan-13 14:29:34

I find it hard making it to the bus without getting lost....

cheelu Fri 11-Jan-13 14:14:31
