Not to be outdone - does anybody fel they could face that dreadful ordeal again?
The immortal line "No we don't have the Chenin Blanc in the white"grin
Is Birmingham ready for a second onslaught - will New Street ever recover?

I must admit to being terribly biased in favour of the Museum because I love the place so much. And a Sunday would suit me better as there's not likely to be any racing on that day wink. But I don't know what I'm doing over the next few weeks so don't want to have any plans based aound me.

Movedalot Mon 28-Jan-13 15:05:17

I'm fine whatever. What do we do at 4pm, all go to Jeni's hotel and party?

gracesmum Mon 28-Jan-13 14:23:45

FYI - a result!! How does this sound?

The Edwardian Tea Room

The licensed Edwardian Tea Room at Birmingham Museum is a spectacular venue with ornate ceilings and gallery displays.
It's the perfect place to rest those feet and you will be spoilt for choice with the delicious selection of hot and cold meals, drinks and snacks.
Free WiFi access is also available.

Opening Hours
11am - 4pm Monday to Saturday
12.30pm to 4pm Sunday.

Other alternatives are :Carluccios, Cafe Rouge or Piccolinos at Brindley Place or Strada at Symphony Hall. Maybe a Sunday rather than a Saturday?
Opinions please!

We could plan that grace wherever we went. Just decide that on the hour we all change places. I think you are right, it would be good to get to know more of us better.

gracesmum Mon 28-Jan-13 14:12:05

I think the advantage of the "move" was that it gave us an opportunity to "regroup" and perhaps talk to someone who had been at the other end of the table over lunch.

Movedalot Mon 28-Jan-13 13:34:09

But Jess I like wine with my dinner! wine

We need somewhere with cakes and wine!

JessM Mon 28-Jan-13 13:23:40

I quite liked what we did the first time. Meet at the museum for reasonably priced catering with wide choice and then adjourn to hotel that serves alcohol afterwards. The only amendment I would make is to stay a wee bit longer in the museum to try their cakes.

grace I'm off to the GP at 1530.

I don't think a date has been agreed I think we are all just leaving it to you to organise us grin

gracesmum Mon 28-Jan-13 12:38:06

Do/did we have a date? And moved how are you doing with your back?

Movedalot Mon 28-Jan-13 10:56:21

Bumped

Movedalot Tue 15-Jan-13 12:35:21

Does that happen often Jeni?

jeni Tue 15-Jan-13 12:13:11

When the claimants bother to turn up. Honestly I just don't understand folk. You'd think that if they want to make their case to get their money they'd turn up to the appointment and on time!
No way!

Ana Tue 15-Jan-13 11:24:29

And anyway, when did being at work ever stop you from posting on Gransnet, jeni? grin

Movedalot Tue 15-Jan-13 11:18:26

Retired from being an OAP, how did you do that Jeni? grin [Boot on other foot emoticon]

jeni Tue 15-Jan-13 10:54:05

Most days I'm at work (hang on I'm a retired oapconfused! Why am I working?)
Ok not today, but!

Movedalot Tue 15-Jan-13 10:24:15

Jeni You will always fail if you try to upset me in the evenings as I usually switch off my laptop around 6pm! Have to try harder in the daytime grin [sweet smile emoticon]

glitabo Mon 14-Jan-13 18:59:00

TBH I don't mind where we go as I shall be travelling to Snow Hill and then I will get a taxi.

jeni Mon 14-Jan-13 18:07:55

The night is yet young [dark] look emoticon.

Movedalot Mon 14-Jan-13 17:55:32

Well you haven't managed to upset me yet Jeni Must try harder grin

jeni Mon 14-Jan-13 17:51:26

Well! I seem to upset most people today! Could be something to do with the results of their appeals! Can't help it though, we have to follow the law,

Movedalot Mon 14-Jan-13 17:49:01

Oh Jeni you know I wouldn't do that! And why would you upset me? Have you ever done so? If you have I must have a short memory.

jeni Mon 14-Jan-13 17:45:37

If I'd upset you you might just step aside at the critical momenthmm

Anne58 Mon 14-Jan-13 17:30:11

I wish I could come sad and envy but mainly sad

Movedalot Mon 14-Jan-13 17:29:23

I don't really mind where we go, I'm happy with them all but don't really want to leave and move on to somewhere else part way through the afternoon. Whatever is easiest for the majority will suit me fine.

Movedalot Mon 14-Jan-13 17:27:35

Jeni if we went to one of the ones by the Hippodrome all you would have to do is cross the road opposite the station and point yourself downhill, give me a call and I'll be waiting to stop you at the bottom!! grin
