I would love to join you, Elegran. If you lived in Glasgow, I would make the journey by bus. Mr soop is not up to driving from here to Edinburgh. I hope that you have a grand time. Raise a glass of cheer in my absence, please. Once hospital visits are over and done with, I shall look forward to the next gathering.

OK, consensus is that half-a-dozen of us are meeting at mine on 25th Jan to toast the national bard, eat haggis and blether. Is anyone else joining us?

I shall be celebrating the Auld Alliance/Vieille Alliance in lieu. Not sure if we will be partaking of haggis in Paris (hope not!). Will be celebrating memories - Immortal perhaps

Piping NOT piling (could be Freudian at my weight)

Wish I could come but its a bit far . Even for a haggis. I'll fish the one bro bought me from Perth out of the freezer and eat in solitary state wi me mashed neaps an champit tatties.
The piling in will be performed on a recorder.
But the haggis will be well and truly addressed and toasted, along with the 'Immortal memory!'
