Worth having a look. Not an area I have been to. How does anyone else feel about this?

Meriden is known as the centre of the country, is there anything suitable in that area

Hello, as the new Editor for the local Warwickshire site I would love to arrange a first meet up. I live in Stratford and yes the parking isn't great but some lovely places on the outskirts. The Boot at Lapworth is a nice idea, Crabmill in Preston Bagot another, any other venue suggestions. Hopefully we can arrange more meet-ups to cover wider areas in the near future. The week beginning 20th May looks good for me so far. How does this sound?

I think we need to establish who wants to meet up and whether they need to use public transport or will all be driving. Once we know that it would be a lot easier to arrange a venue. My vote would be for a country pub and I would be more than happy to pick up others from a train or bus if that is any help.

There is no hidden agenda here but I have access as a member to a CIU club which is close to J2 M6/M69 with good parking in Ansty village.

Monday Lunch Club offers Main meal for £3, usually 3 choices, with starter and desert as extra with a good chef. Served around 1 pm.

Mostly strangers, but can only really speak for myself. We have had a couple of meetups- I went to one in Birmingham and met some great people. There have also been some in Scotland.
I realise Lapworth is probably not very convenient for a lot of people. Stratford would be nice but parking is horrendous and trains seem to be slow.

How about the Boot at Lapworth = near Hockley Heath? It would mean driving, but being in the country parking no bother. Near Packwood House.

I also live in the West Midlands and have only recently joined the club.

So as a new member would you please advise - Do you all know each other or are we all strangers?

Parking in both Warwick and Stratford is always difficult. Are there other options such as a village pub or club = easy and free parking

Great, looking at a date in May now. Can arrange a meet near the rail station but free parking in Stratford is hard to come by. There are streets that offer up to 2 hours free parking I can direct you to. Will check diary and come up with some dates.

I am in the West Midlands.
Depending on date I could come to Stratford / Warwick.
I would rather meet either somewhere near the rail station or somewhere where there is parking ( free preferred ).

I'd be happy to drive to Statford/Warwick to meet up.

Any other gransnetters based in Warwickshire? There's interest in a meet-up there: http://local.gransnet.com/forums/local_warwickshire_meet_ups/1197126-New-Grandmother
