Any other gransnetters based in Warwickshire? There's interest in a meet-up there: http://local.gransnet.com/forums/local_warwickshire_meet_ups/1197126-New-Grandmother

I'd be happy to drive to Statford/Warwick to meet up.

I am in the West Midlands.
Depending on date I could come to Stratford / Warwick.
I would rather meet either somewhere near the rail station or somewhere where there is parking ( free preferred ).

Great, looking at a date in May now. Can arrange a meet near the rail station but free parking in Stratford is hard to come by. There are streets that offer up to 2 hours free parking I can direct you to. Will check diary and come up with some dates.

I also live in the West Midlands and have only recently joined the club.

So as a new member would you please advise - Do you all know each other or are we all strangers?

Parking in both Warwick and Stratford is always difficult. Are there other options such as a village pub or club = easy and free parking

How about the Boot at Lapworth = near Hockley Heath? It would mean driving, but being in the country parking no bother. Near Packwood House.

Mostly strangers, but can only really speak for myself. We have had a couple of meetups- I went to one in Birmingham and met some great people. There have also been some in Scotland.
I realise Lapworth is probably not very convenient for a lot of people. Stratford would be nice but parking is horrendous and trains seem to be slow.

There is no hidden agenda here but I have access as a member to a CIU club which is close to J2 M6/M69 with good parking in Ansty village.

Monday Lunch Club offers Main meal for £3, usually 3 choices, with starter and desert as extra with a good chef. Served around 1 pm.

I think we need to establish who wants to meet up and whether they need to use public transport or will all be driving. Once we know that it would be a lot easier to arrange a venue. My vote would be for a country pub and I would be more than happy to pick up others from a train or bus if that is any help.

Hello, as the new Editor for the local Warwickshire site I would love to arrange a first meet up. I live in Stratford and yes the parking isn't great but some lovely places on the outskirts. The Boot at Lapworth is a nice idea, Crabmill in Preston Bagot another, any other venue suggestions. Hopefully we can arrange more meet-ups to cover wider areas in the near future. The week beginning 20th May looks good for me so far. How does this sound?

Meriden is known as the centre of the country, is there anything suitable in that area

Nana2TVJ Mon 15-Apr-13 10:29:12

Worth having a look. Not an area I have been to. How does anyone else feel about this?

Nana2TVJ Sun 21-Apr-13 20:38:24

Any more thoughts on who would like to meet up and favoured area?

Nana2TVJ Tue 07-May-13 22:53:03

Looking at meeting at The Crabmill, Preston Bagot on either May 22nd or 23rd for lunch time drink/snacks. Let me know who's free on either dates.

Movedalot Wed 08-May-13 14:00:49

Would love to come but will be away for just those same 2 days and I cannot change it as it is to something specific to those dates.

Nana2TVJ Thu 09-May-13 16:48:36

That's a shame, but we will keep trying.

I am pinning the date down to the 22nd May now and have one def. joining me, hope we will have some others.

Lovely first meet up for Gransnet Local Warwickshire. Met 2 great ladies and 1 granddaughter. The time went really quickly and had lots to chat about. Hope we can meet again soon and look forward to welcoming some more new faces. smile

Time to meet up again. Let me know who is free early July. I know holidays will be looming but maybe we could grab a cup of tea and cake, with or without our grandchildren.

Hope you have been checking the Warwickshire local site. Let me know of any places you have visited that I have yet to list. Maybe you could pop a few reviews on places that are familiar to you. Don't forget you can do listings too. This would be much appreciated by your local Editor.

Look forward to meeting you all.

MrsSB Thu 20-Jun-13 19:21:41

I'm pretty free during July at the moment and would be interested in meeting up. However, I'm not sure I could travel too far, I'm in North Warks, near Bedworth/Nuneaton. It depends where the get together is planned to take place for me.

cortina Thu 20-Jun-13 23:23:38

I am in the West Midlands and have some holidays/week-ends booked for July but if able to would like to attend and meet-up.

Aka Thu 20-Jun-13 23:35:12

I'd be up for another get together too.

Nana2TVJ Fri 21-Jun-13 18:00:04

Great sounds like a few of us are free to meet up. Will put a couple of dates together and see what suits. Maybe we could start thinking about a location or two. MrsSB I'm not too familiar with the North of the county but let me know if there is somewhere you have in mind. We have another grandparent who doesn't use the site who would also like to meet us. smile
