Hi
I'm the local editor for GN Bolton and would love organise a meetup here in September. Wheniam64 organised a great NW meetup in May, where I was able to meet lots of other Gransnetters. It would be fantastic if everyone could come along again, although I don't want to hijack the NW meetups which have been in existence before I was even a GN member. Everyone was very welcoming and I hope we can have another chatty lunch . By all means DM with your views or questions
Pam

In a group of chatterboxes, your mum's conversation was most welcome, Ginny. Please give her my best wishes smile

Thanks, Wheniam64 for your lovely comments .Mum really enjoyed meeting you all, too.
She was really excited to meet everyone and to get a chance to talk to so many new people - just a bit worried on the way home that she had talked too much!

Sorry to miss you ths time, Hummngbird. Hopefully, you will make it next time in December back at the Coach House. It was lovely to see Iam64, Grammar, Seasider, Ginnytonic and her lovely mum, amd Anno as always. The book swap went well, so perhaps we could do it again. Best wishes to NellieMoser, Little Miss Sunshine, Vegasmags, Liminetta and Sewsilver, who we will look out for next time.

If you want to see a role model for aging with panache, there's no better than Ginny's mum - 92 years of age, full of wit and humour, and so interesting to converse with. What's more, she has an MP3, iPad and Kindle. Talk about showing us how to open up our minds to how not to be governed by physical restrictions of aging - sharp as a tack! Thanks for bringing your mum along, Ginny smile

Ps... Wardrobe in a large number of pieces on bedroom floor, waiting to do battle with Mr H. Have horrible feeling it might win! wink

hummingbird Thu 19-Sept-13 17:03:58

Of course you all looked gorgeous! I'm so disappointed to have missed it - I'd planned my route, done my hair, gathered a few books - all I vain! Never mind, see you all in December. flowers

Missed you, hummingbird. I think when and I will be arranging a meet-up at the Trafford Centre Coach House in early December. I was going to take some photos today but I'd forgotten to charge the phone! However, as Ginny says, we all looked gorgeous. hmm

GinnyTonic Thu 19-Sept-13 15:50:36

Oh no, Hummingbird. Really sorry you couldn't make it. It was great that everyone was prepared to brave the horrendous driving conditions to come to Bolton. I think we are meeting at Trafford Centre next time - not sure if Wheniam64 is arranging? I forgot to take a camera, but can assure you we all looked gorgeous, of course smile. Hope your wardrobe looks good, too!

Sorry I've not been around - just spotted query re directions. Yes, it's junction 5 off M61 , head towards Bolton & its on the right - Hunger Hill.
Looking forward to seeing everyone - shame Vegasmags that you can't make it.

vegasmags Wed 18-Sept-13 18:03:42

Hello everyone! I have now returned from America, via serious birthday celebrations in London. I had a wonderful holiday, if not as profitable as some previous trips! As I am still jetlagged, I am going to pass on tomorrow's meetup, sadly, as I did intend to be there. I know you will all have a great time and I look forward to seeing the photos.

annodomini Wed 18-Sept-13 16:18:12

It's off the M61, isn't it?

whenim64 Wed 18-Sept-13 16:00:59

Oh, that's good news, anno. See you tomorrow.

annodomini Wed 18-Sept-13 15:26:08

My scruffy old Yaris passed its MoT with little extra expense, so I'll be there at the Bolton meet-up. Can't wait.

Iam64 Wed 18-Sept-13 13:23:03

hey, good idea about books. I'm in clear out mode as well. See you all tomorrow

whenim64 Wed 18-Sept-13 11:01:41

Good luck, Anno!

annodomini Wed 18-Sept-13 10:52:12

I'm back from Scotland and will see you tomorrow, as long as the car passes its MoT today. hmm

whenim64 Wed 18-Sept-13 09:44:54

Just an afterthought.....if anyone has any books they want to share, swap or give away, our meet-up would be a good opportunity. I've got some that I'll bring along. Another clearout is overdue grin

whenim64 Wed 18-Sept-13 09:42:29
