I live about an hour from Oxford so had a look to see if there was a "local" GN and/or any meetups. Having drawn a blank is anybody in or around Oxford interested?

Gorki Fri 31-Jan-14 14:46:01

Yes I am still interested. Those dates suit me too. Love to meet up.

Soutra Fri 31-Jan-14 14:41:25

I was one of the people who originally hoped to meet up in Oxford but in the end couldn't manage it. I'd be interested in another try though! As I remember, gorki, noodles and ginny were potentially up for it and we were trying to get alieoxon along as well. I can do most Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays if that is any use . Welcome as local editor purple - do you think we could give it a go?

alchemillamollis Wed 29-Jan-14 12:40:58

Hello, purple...I didn't get involved with the meet-up described above, but I'd be very interested in any future ones. smile I'll take a look at your pages.

Did this meetup ever happen? If so, how did it go? Is anyone out there still interested? I'm the new(ish) local editor for Oxford and one of my jobs is to organise meetups - so if anyone out there wants to go ahead, let me know when and where would suit.

Also, have a look a the Oxford webpage and if you've got any hot tips please add to the listings. We're hoping to produce a local newsletter soon, so you might want to contribute to that too.

I'm really sorry, but I can't cope with the centre of town. Too crowded, too much walking to get anywhere.
I would like to meet you all, but I just physically can't do it.
Maybe next time. I am improving.

sadsad Noodles says she can't make it, oldgirlfriday would prefer 16th. Anyone else? Gadabout - are you coming?

gracesmum Mon 07-Oct-13 12:05:25

Either 16th or 17th OK for me. See above for more participants??

Gorki Mon 07-Oct-13 11:46:51

I could manage either day with a slight preference for 17th. smile

gracesmum Sun 06-Oct-13 20:57:54

Right! I understand gorki is now back so can we have a go at fixing this up?

So far we have interest from gorki, gadabout gran, oldgirlfriday maybe alieOxon, Noodles(?) and myself. Our preferred dates are 16th or 17th October and I think as most of us would be using public transport, we would prefer a central venue. Now, how about anybody else - Mickare you interested or any of your Banbury buddies? The more the merrier.

If any of you are interested, lets try to get this one up and running

oldgirlfriday Thu 03-Oct-13 18:42:47

grannylin - new to all this OGF???

Grannylin Wed 02-Oct-13 21:37:38

oldgirlfriday you are OGF in gracesmum's reply smile

GadaboutGran Wed 02-Oct-13 21:32:33

Just caught up with GN & this thread. I am 35 mins by car from Oxford & would be interested. Prefer centre of town & would use the park & ride.
If you haven't yet fixed on a venue, what about one of the Museums like the Ashmolean? Have you decided on a date?

oldgirlfriday Mon 30-Sept-13 21:19:07

I did respond to you with interest in the meet up , but alas you never replied!!

gracesmum Mon 30-Sept-13 11:50:03

Or The Randolph???

gracesmum Mon 30-Sept-13 11:49:44

Right - are we going to get this one off the ground?
I am confused as to whether we are looking at the 15th or 16th but can't do the 15th so would prefer 16th! (or 17th)
I take your point AlieOxon but personally I will be coming by bus - for exactly the reason you give re parking so would prefer to be central as the X5 from MK goes to the bus station! Is the Cowley Centre a shopping centre? I have to say I would prefer a "nice" Oxford cafe if poss like I think it's called The Rose Cafe in the High Street. However, not inflexible as it's the company that counts! Tea at the Ashmolean maybe?
So, Gorki, Noodles OGF are you still up for it? What about Mick in Banbury and anybody else? I've tried Ginny and she's not able to go, but there must be others - no?

AlieOxon Sun 15-Sept-13 20:15:34

Hi - I got the PMs but only just fond this thread.
Interested - 15th Oct I will have to check on.. or is this changed? - will check my calendar.

But it's not good to park in the middle of Oxford, it's horribly expensive!
I suggested Cowley centre but there may be other places?

oldgirlfriday Sun 15-Sept-13 18:44:01

Oops. sorry meant to type the 16th!!

oldgirlfriday Sun 15-Sept-13 18:43:03

Gracesmum. Just been catching up with GN. I think you are referring to me. I can make the 15th October if you don't mind a fairly newbie coming along. Did the Northamptonshire meet up ever happen?

gracesmum Mon 09-Sept-13 20:38:15

How about Alieoxon - are you out there??? Let's pencil them in and hope some others can join us. I'm thinking of Ginny who is I think in this neck of the woods and I'm sure there was somebody north of me on the way to Wellingborough, but can'e remember hername!!

Gorki Mon 09-Sept-13 19:48:36

All those dates are fine for me. How about you noodles ?

gracesmum Mon 09-Sept-13 17:25:18

Is the following week any good as I am busy on all of those dates? Could do 16th, 17th or 18th?

Gorki Mon 09-Sept-13 12:28:48

I am away for the first week of October but could happily do the 9th 10th or 11th if that is any good.

gracesmum Sat 07-Sept-13 20:12:43

Early october any good? I can't do mon or tues but would try to be flexible.

noodles Sat 07-Sept-13 19:36:22

Gorki and gracesmum I'd be interested in an Oxford meet up. Any dates in mind?

Gorki Wed 04-Sept-13 22:21:59

We have a Reading meetup tomorrow so I will mention it then.
